I fixed it, temporarily, it ends up reoccuring later on, by renaming the 'img' folder.

I am getting the same crashing problem near gates (x800xt pe). By renaming the img folder in cache/browser right after I get into the game, allows me to warp away from those evil gates :)
I had tried deleting cache, reinstalling eve, dancing around my desk, etc. I was losing hope :P
Was crashing in Rens, and Illinfrik. Frarn (in the middle of those two systems) was fine for me.

No effect.  And as many, I am also using a 6600GT. I made a 4 jump trip this morning, during which the game crashed over 10 times while arriving at a gate (high and low sec, didn't matter) or logging in. Sometimes after logging in it crashed even before the character selection screen.

same as everyone, but also randomly happens at stations(not always) and also.. get this.. when I activate any modual.
I love this.. can we get a fix?(cache is cleared, didn't help exceot with the gate crashing..rest still happens)

Same problem here, deleting the "img" folder after you start the game works as a temporary measure, but I still can't play. I hope this issue is addressed soon. |

well its was the Kaparsky antivirussoftware who caused the crashes.All is fine now.

I had this problem on sisi and now i am getting it on TQ. The problem seems to be when the client tries to load character portraits from the img folder. On sisi my client would crash as it tried to load the portraits on the char select screen. I fixed this by copying the img folder from my TQ folder to the sisi one. Now i am having the same problem as everyone else...when i warp to a gate i crash and the logserver shows an img file attempting to be called.
I'm on a laptop using a radeon mobility 9600 graphics card.

Hi everyone.
Same issue here, crashing to desktop at jump-gates. I was also having problems logging back-in with the error message "Connection to server is closed..." or something coming up repeatedly. I am having some luck with sound disabled; thanks for the tip!
My video card is the ATI All-In-Wonder X800.
I have filed a petition; let's hope that this is a small glitch and corrected quickly. It's unfortunate that a seemingly flawless update for many is turning nasty for some.

Well, I've tried a number of things - making sure my AMD dual-core drives were up-to-date, likewise with the AMD dual-core optimizer, then made sure all other drivers (Creative X-Fi, nForce 4/NIC, etc) were at the latest certified driver level* still no change.
(can't take my GeFoce display drivers above 82.12 atm due to stability issues with the card firmware).
The i started dropping running programs, disabled Norton AV Auto protect, opened Sygate Personall Firewall, killed all other trivial apps running on the system. Still no change.
I then stopped the nVidia Display Driver Service in Services and oddly I was able to log in, jump a few systems and dock at my destination without any problems. I am not entirely convinced that this service was at fault as I found this issue sporadic on Sisi (not to mention that not everyone having this issue is runnning Nvidia hardware) so I might just be lucky atm - will continue testing. |

Anybody else seeing their box spontaneously reboot? I can duplicate it consistently when engaging NPC rats in .4 space.
Also, I can see the system suns flashing through planets. I also see a flashing white globe before warping.
Latest drivers for my 7600GT 256MB PCI-e vid card
Never had any issues until after th patch... |

I dont think this is us????....
There is a known issue causing crashes with Dual Processor PC's. When warping to jump gates there is a chance that a CTD will occur. This is caused by a problem with Directx. In order to minimise the chance of this problem occurring please do the following:
Set the exefile.exe process affinity in Windows Task Manager to a single cpu.
Do not run with the client minimised and on autopilot.
These steps will not eliminate the chance of the crash occurring, but will minimise it. We are working finding a solution to this problem, but we have no ETA at this time.

I'm running a Geoforce Fx 5200.
Also, a command window came up after I loaded Revelations. DId this happen to anyone else? Could it possibly be linked?

That only happens the first time you start the updated version. Never happens again.
I think it's part of their update procedure.

6600 gt here and getting same problems
deleted eve, fresh install, (twice), checked for spyware, virus checked no avail
next step is to instal direct x drivers to see if that works, then will check the suggestion of using 84.21 graphic driver..... please hope it works getting annoyed not being able to play properly

Am always playing in window mode, (Radeon 9600)
went 22 jumps afterwards no problem (got a white flash each time jumped through a gate)
but now can hardly stay ingame, keeps crashing to desktop...

yup have the same problem even got stuck in a loop for awhile 21 login's to get out of it never tryed a stargate since, im sitting in a frecking station now  im using a fx5500 256ram and yes tryed clearing cache and the work arounds nothing helps.

Keep getting random CCP blue framework crashes or random CTDs (few seconds or minutes). More often in Kali and more randomly. I currently experience crashes at jumps and at character selection screen. Before Kali, it was usually at jump in progress.
Any fix? At the moment, it is impossible to play.
If the patch is the same as it was on SiSi during patch day. I did not have problems when testing. No crashes.
Single core, GF4 Ti.

There is a fix - open properties of cache\browser\Img folder and go to security. Deny everything for everybody, except for the creator - and there will be no possibility for Eve (and you  ) to access this folder.
Try it.

Just to add some more information to this issue:
When I log in as my two alts, I have no problems. Everything works as advertised, including the map. Both alts are fine. Both are in high-sec (0.5+) space.
When I log in as my main character, who is in low-sec at the moment (<0.5), I have the same issues as above:
1. Ship automatically (on login) warps to the stargate I was headed toward before last crash. I can't stop the warp from occuring.
2. Upon arrival at the stargate, EVE crashes to desktop.
3. Log back in, and repeat same problem.
4. Later, log in to one or the other of my alts again. Still, no problem at all.
What is different about the main character than the two alts that causes the crash? Obviously, my hardware and EVE software is exactly the same each time.
Is is it the security level of the system I'm in?
All I can think of is that the main character has a lot of stuff in People & Places (including tons of "buddies" that I can delete now that standings show in local, and old instas that I can now delete due to "Warp to 0") but I can't delete anything because I'm only in EVE about 20 seconds before the crash.
I guess I'll file a petition and see if that helps CCP debug it.

Update: I flew one of my alts a couple of jumps away and now it is having the same problems. The fact that folks seem to be noticing stuff to do with the cache/img folder makes me wonder if there are particular locations or -- you saw it here first -- maybe BILLBOARD pictures -- that are causing the problem?

well reporting back, i have updated directx, and reverted to older nivida drivers... still cant play getting ctd in most cases when i have logged into the game..... <sobs>

As already stated this can be used as a workaround for those crashing at char select/warping to gates.
1) Rename your eve/cache/browser/img folder to anything, i use abc.
2) Open eve
3) Delete newly created img folder
4) Login
5) Voila, no crashing. Just delete the img folder it creates on each login.
