Things I need to do in new regions: Get drunk. Get blown up.
I have a strong feeling both will be fullfilled very shortly. 
How are they working out? Playable? T÷talLagDeath? Not fun?

I visited them on the test server yesterday, and as I said on BE TS, they are an industrialist's paradise. You wont get ratters out there as there are no bounties, and no mods dropped, but with a decent refinery outpost/POS there is isk to be made.
I dont quite know how heavily they will be fought for in this respect. With no complexes to fight for or stations to control. Time will tell I guess.
Carlsberg dont make Eve Pilots, but if they did, i wouldnt be one of them.

Quite sure any of the big boys could build outposts there, and that some that have been in low-sec/empire for too long will attempt to as soon as the regions are fully assesed.
From the map, some areas can be secured quite nicely with the right number of people.

My isk is on ISS to build the first outpost. I think it might take a week or so before anyone makes a huge move there. Probably scouts and npcers will go there first to see how much minerals they can get with the drone alloys.
Got a question for those that have already been there: how many alloys do they drop per ship. How long would it take to fill a 600m3 cargo hold? And what else is there besides the drones? I would assume that the exploration thing would figure into it, maybe some new stuff hidden. Very interesting times indeed.

expect the farmers to end up out there if ore drops are good. Actually im looking forward to existing 0.0 regions emptying out a bit at least for a few weeks while everyone takes a look to see if its worth it

If you're going to be ratting there for any length of time you need a hauler. They drop LOTS of mins. It'll take no time at all for a bs hold to get full.
