Ok I have herd several times this rumor about items around the planets.
I just wanna know if this is true and if it is how do you find such items do you just fly around the planet or orbit it at a specific range??
It could be intresting for exploration and such.

It's true. Just be careful, there will be pirates around...

I can give yo a specific example - Sosola VII in The bleak lands has 2 abandoned stations orbiting it...with Blood Engravers around one and really tough pirates around the other. Have been there and survived several time (but it wasn't easy).
I have run across many others, but do have the coords handy.

Are they only at low secure systems ?

Ok thanx,
But one last question do you orbit the planet or just approach it??
And if you orbit at what range do you orbit?? _______________________

Planets are pretty big and would take a VERY long time to do even a single orbit. You might miss even something huge if you approach the planet from the wrong side.
This is making System Surveys very time consuming, because to make sure you get everything, you have to try to approach each planet form enough angles to see the whole globe.
I have seen items in systems as high as 0.8, but can't recall specifics.

There aren't any items you can pick up, but there is some really cool stuff in Luminaire system in Essence. Just warp to either Gallente Prime or Caldari Prime. ------------- My salsa makes all the pretty girls want to dance and take off their underpants. I <3 ( . Y . ) |

That's interesting, what kind of things can be found at these places?

take a look at images at bottom (NOT suitable for in-game browser).
You can find all sorts of stuff around planets, suns and moons... not too mention other "places of interest" out in the middle of nowhere - just have to keep you eyes open and be willing to spend a little time searching.
As to there "being nothing to pick up" - well... lets just say that that is wildly incorrect.

I was just saying there was nothing to pick up in Luminaire... unless they've added stuff since the last time I was there. ------------- My salsa makes all the pretty girls want to dance and take off their underpants. I <3 ( . Y . ) |

Here's a specific example of what you can find. In Mara (Lonetrek region), there are no stations in the system at all. Just a few belts, planets, and moons.
If you warp to Planet VIII (from any direction), you will come out of warp and see a Mining Post in front of you. This mining post has multiple asteroids of its own floating around (Veldspar I think), a few (2-3) low level pirates (Guristas Imputors), and a drifting cask. I don't recall exactly what I've pulled from the cask, but since it isn't being guarded by anything major, its not the very best loot.
Another example is in Aurohunen. I believe if you go to planet IV, there is a wreckage of either a ship or a station there. The 2 times I went there, I found 2 Guristas Plunderers and 1 Guristas Wrecker. Again, there was the ever-present cargo containers there as well.
So, in conclusion, it can be very beneficial to check out the planets and moons in a system. You never know what you could find.

Once again I thank everyone who gave feedback. _______________________
