new system map looks cool on the paper but its completely useless for directional scanning, quickly navigating trough areas of the system, or quickly figuring out how does a system you have just entered look like.
absence of the minimap forces me to make wild mouse movements in hopes of finding what planet is it that i wanted to quickly warp to... or what direction it is i want to scan at. i even have to open the laggy system map and watch all the animation just to see how does the system look like (i tried to disable the transition but to no success).
i don't really see any problem with keeping the old system minimap as a part of the directional scanning tab. just let it appear on the left side like it used to, with nothing below it.
Make ECCM viable! Give it 25% to scanning resolution! |

Try the [F11] map browser and a boatload of luck with warping to one of the dots.

The cause for this is not yet known, but we do have a possible fix in testing.

I agree, this is my biggest gripe with the new features. Bring back the scanner map.

I can still scan fine, even with out the system map, it took a lil getting used to but now just like it was before.

I just came here to post this very topic.
Agreed, even when you get used to it, it's slow (**** map animations) and clunky. A 2d version embedded inside the directional scanner simply works better. Please bring it back.
