I am a freighter pilot, I haul stuff for people.
I used escrows for my line of work.
My clients would escrow to me what they needed hauled and send me an evemail where they wanted it dropped, I would then re-escrow it with the added shipping fee back to them, nice and simple.
I log in and buy the contract skill and proceed to train it to level 2 and start to try and re-escrow everything to everyone.
Its not working, heres how I am attempting it and please help me out where I am going wrong.
I click contracts > Create a contract
under Type I choose Item exchange > Private > Pilots name and click next
under Items I check the cargo to be delivered and click next
under Select Options I choose 0.0 for what I pay, the amount I am owed under What I will recieve, set it for a week and give it a description and click next
under confirm it says my settings are correct and I click next and nothing happens.......please help if you can

Private contracts are currently broken. It's not listed in known issues, but is listed in the Revelations bug thread. Currently, a private contract can only be viewed by the issuing character.

You should submit a petition with your problem. It does not correspond to a "known issue".

Private contracts certainly do work, at least they have for me. For the other party to view them they need to go to the "Available Contracts" tab and then under "View" select "Me" which may not be totally intuitive, but that will show any contracts issued privately to them. To the OP, you should see a popup confirmation window at that point asking you if you are sure you want to do this etc, and once you hit OK it will have another final window showing the contract was posted with the relevant details on whats in it, how much you are owed etc. I'm thinking clearing your eve cache files might help with this issue, but thats just a total guess.

The issue is that your line of work is no longer compatable with CCP's Vision (TM) ver. Revelations. Sorry :/
The easiest way to do it now is to have them meet you at your destination and do a direct trade.

Dao 2 was kind enough to walk me through things and it seems I was doing things correctly but I am bugged somehow.
He suggested I clear my cache's Machonet folder so I did and it still seems I am somehow bugged and cannot so I am now petitioning.
Thanks for the replies and suggestions.

There is a tab labelled "my contracts". Logically, one should be able to access one's contracts via this tab. In fact, it is explicitly designed to allow one to access one's contracts, as the only search options are contracts issued to your character, your character's corp and your character's alliance. This tab will not permit you to view private contracts and is thus bugged. It is inconsistent with the rest of the Eve UI, and is inconsistent with the behavior one would expect from the search queries it sets up.
Further, there is no logical reason that the target character of a private contract should be unable to find it by searching for contracts in "current station", "entire region", or "other region". The UI indicator that those options search for public contracts is a brief flash while the cluster does a DB search. It does not indicate that the search is for *only* public contracts, which violates the behavior of a number of other chunks of the Eve UI.
The other option you mention does work, which is good. It doesn't change the fact that there's a bug. All of the possible search options should work, not just one. The whole point of a DB search is to allow one to find something when you don't know exactly how it's stored. Since my characters are not in the same corporation or alliance, I was not able to test those options. The behavior of the interface does not lead me to believe that they work any better tho.
And yes, I've petitioned this bug.

it works much better though ;p
when u set it to "Me" it shows every contract that is personally to you anywhere, no matter what region you are in or what region your searching ;p ------------------------------------------------ NEWLY ADDED ON 1/19 (though applies to all posts before ;p)

2 things, i have had absolutely no problems making private contracts that can be easily found by my alt. by going to the my contracts tab and selecting TO and ME in the appropriate drop down boxes.
and the solution to the ops problem would be the new courier contracts. these seem to be working very well as evidenced by the proliferation of said courier contracts.

This is a long shot, but try renaming your cache folder to chache_old and your capture folder to capture_old , make sure they are both not set to read only and try again. Post here if that makes any difference. ___________________________ ~Jiekon
