Sorry I didn't think to get screen shots and stuff, but I'm home with the flu so not thinking too clearly.
This is a 2 stage gated mission. First stage has some cruisers and a fair number of frigates (can't remember if there was a BS or not, if so it was just one). The thing I really wanted to post about was this:
The gate to the second stage is 120km from the entry point to the second stage. That's not a typo. Takes me 13-14min just travelling to the second stage, and god help you if you have to warp out.
Second stage had two aggro groups. First one was fairly small - cruisers and some assault frigates. Second one contained the normal number of frigates, a reasonable number of cruisers, 3 battleships and A WHOLE MESS OF DESTROYERS. I do missions on easy mode with a Gist booster, but if I had to do it with a T2 setup, I'd definitely make those destroyers a priority.
Anyway, in general I would just decline this mission. The bounties are sub-par and that 120km trek to the second gate is a snooze-fest. "I like to loot, especially going to the can of the battleship, sometimes there is a surprise inside, sometimes there is only carp..." |

One of the things I actually liked about mission changes is that gate activation range had substantially increased. It made me think that perhaps the devs realized that travelling from gate to gate within missions is an unecessary time sink and compensated.
My intuition had conflicting thoughts about this. As usual, and according to your information, it was right. I really fail to see the logic in having to travel 100+km (even 25km is a bit of a stretch given the repetitiveness of missions) just to get to the next stage when in most cases, one cannot activate the gate without clearing the entire roomfull of spawns. |

Time sink.
Wrecks are time sinks too - in three ways.
Destroyers can be really ugly if you let them reach their optimal range.
LP and Isk rewards will go up over the next couple of days as the mission system gets more input about the time it takes to complete the mission. Failed missions seem to count as 0 time spend for completing - see 'Nomads' from Thukker Tribe agents. --*=*=*--

To play devils advocate, I liked this mission.
The long trek to the gate is a time sink but then so is sitting still and cycling through targets. Solution: do both at the same time. There is was only 1 BS when i did it but a tonne of frigates, destroyers and cruisers to churn through (3-4 groups isn't it?) - approach the 1st gate as you clear everything, I found it tankable with t1 hardeners and a large shield bosster II.
The mission rewards are alittle low, agreed, but then hopefully the LP will go up.

I did the same, but by the time i was finished killing the entire first stage i still had about 75km to go in my BS. --------------------

The Serpentis version has 3 stages as far as I remember.
I think it's one of the new missions made only because the Devs' favourite group of players, Caldari, have a new turret ship now. They can load Antimatter and blow all the rats to heck from the warp-in point in minutes, in all 3 stages. My Machariel takes a lot longer to do it, since my optimal with the only ammo I can sensibly use vs. Serpentis is way below the 60-70Km I need.
Most of the older missions of this type put you anywhere from 15 to 70+ Km of the spawns, so those were made for Ravens. :-/

I really wish people would post what level missions were when they posted about them. I'm assuming it's a level 4 since it has BS's... but it sounds relatively easy for a level 4.

Yes, it's L4 and even though it has a lot of NPCs (and wrecks :-P) it's very easy.

yep, it is not specially complicated, finishing my first one right now (it's also true that i've done my fair share of lvl 4 missions) -----------------------------

i was very disappointed in this mission, not only do you have a 120km approach to the next gate after beating very weak enemies, the next group only had 3 bs out a boatload of frigs and cruisers...bounites woefully low, maybe this missions should go where it belongs, lets call it a level 2....an incredible time sink with very little reward, wouldn't recommend wasting ur time on it.....my 2 cents for what it's worth
