Hello,
Just wondering how I can increase my security status faster. Its been 3 months I've been playing and I'm still at 0.0.  Everytime I kill a pirate It says my status went up by 0.0001. At that rate, I'll never reach 0.1 and I see alot of players who have 0.4 and alot higher. Is there anything else other than killing prates that will raise my security status faster ?. Thank you.

no it's the only way...
but why do you need higher rating so badly?
The players who have really high rating are not casual players... They dedicate time, hours, days! to do nothing but hunting, right now there's a lot money in it too...

Also, u mention that some players have a really high security status. This is because these players (inc. myself) have been playing for a long time, and just after the EVE's launch, it was possible to gain a huge security status by hunting. This has since been Nerfed, and gaining security status is now alot harder. The more powerful the NPC pirates u kill, the better the boost to your security.... an indication for this is the amount of bounty offered for killing it. This as far as I know is about the only worthwhile way to improve your sec status.

Killing NPC pirates is not the only way to increase your security rating. Some level 2 and 3 agents offer u missions wich give u quite a good amount of security points. Best I got was a plus of 1.2 for example

Learning the social skill helps also.
It gives a 5% bonus per level to NPC standings.

Was that with an agent of CONCORD though?
