Edited by: Jiara Castoumi on 30/11/2006 16:25:55 The EVE Galactic Bank is now open for trading. And I shall keep this so you don't have to be a financial guru to profit from this.
How to open an account. You simply purchase shares available, the more you buy, the larger your return from the months profits. The MINIMUM purchase is one share. To purchase a share, eve mail myself Jiara Castoumi. Once you have purchased your share it is yours to do with as you see fit. The share amount is limited.
How will the Bank make profit? We will, like all banks, loan the money out. Taking collateral and taking a monthly interest rate on loaned isk. Current Monthly Rate is 8% on All loans. Loans can run from 1 month to 6 months. Loans over 6 months will require more in depth discussion with a "banker" We can allow a 1 week loan, but the Interest on this will be high.
Every month, the profits made from the bank will be divvied out to ALL that have shares. The bank will make No ISKs from this venture.
To those wishing to trade shares, please make sure that if you're purchasing shares from a 3rd party make sure that the shares you are purchasing are for the EVE Galactic Bank.
Also there are no stipulations with how old you need to be to buy shares. Be you one day old or three years old, your money is welcome.
FINALLY, THE EVE GALACTIC BANK IS A NON PROFIT ORGANIZATION. THE BANK WILL MAKE 0 ISKS FROM THIS. BANK WORKERS ARE BANNED FROM OBTAINING SHARES.
And no this is not a joke.
Reasons why: (OOC) In real life I own my own company, I make a lot of money. I have a lot of free time, and I am a nice person. I also see that people argue over the fact in eve you're either Super Poor or Super Rich and I wish to try to give everyone a fair shot at making some money on the side.

Edited by: Banedon Runestar on 30/11/2006 17:13:56 You're obviously new around here, or deluded, I'm not sure.
The *last* time there was an attempt at a Galatic Bank, the main executor of said bank ran off with something like 700 BILLION ISK, bought a few nice ships (and then lost them), and then sold the rest of the ISK on Ebay.
I have no idea if his account got banned or if he sold the character or what. But simply because of the crap that happened the last time someone tried this, I doubt that it will work a second time around. Once biten, twice shy kind of thing.
But good luck. ----- Now if only my ! would disappear, I might be impressed. Four months and counting... |

I think there are enough naive, blue-eyed ppl in this world that it would actually work a second time. Or a third for that matter.

Now if someone reputable, someone with a name that everyone trusted and recognized throughout the entire EVE Community started such an investment endeavour, there might be a little more interest.
But as was mentioned above, when lots of people were scammed earlier this year out of 700 billion isk, alot people lost their trust for others. |

That's your business plan?? Not ALL the profits should go to the shareholders!! You have to leave some for future expansion and capitalisation of other projects. Give your ISK to this great and benevolent organisation .
If it looks like a scam, smells like a scam... good chance it's a scam. Only time will tell.

well it depends on what the shareholders vote for.
However, like a real bank the offender can take out another loan to pay off the old loan. Thus lowering his or her eve credit rating :(

Excuse me? You (Da Banko) have no money - you gave it all each month to your shareholders. You have no assets or money to enforce any action on anyone who does not want to pay you back. It costs ISK to hire a merc corp to act as your "muscle" to get back ISK one won't pay you. And, you have no "enforcement" plan on paybacks of loans other than have your shareholders vote on it? Like they will part with any ISK you might have given out?
I really wasn't going to comment until I saw this reply but this is totally unreal and you are not believable.
And BTW: Not once have you yet mentioned the cost of a Share to become part of this glorious adventure.

I have been hounded with eve mails from those calling myself a scammer. So I'm going to cancel the idea, its obvious the maturity level of the majority of eve is well below suitable standards.
And I did state that the profits made would goto the shareholders, borrowing would have been taken from the profits before the month was up.
Also majority of the information was available on request only via eve mail/convo. Those that have bought shares have been reimbursed.

Yes, blame the maturity of eve players because some random dude out of the woodwork attempted to duplicate the biggest scam ever with no profit listed.

Actually, this can be done as I have done it.
The problems I ran into were:
a) Stocks are hard to manage and sell and many people have VERY similar names and one typo and boom - you are owned by the wrong person.
b) People can sell stocks to others and you don't know where they are at any given time.
c) CCP will treat you like a scammer and poo poo any problems that you have in mechanics cause they figure you probably ARE a scammer. If you lose money because of mechanics - you pay personally.
d) Everyone likes getting money, but nobody likes helping you earn it. This means it becomes a job.
e) There is no easy way to verify the value of stock from inside or outside - so when stock value goes up you have to be very certain.
f) Depending on your investment plan, you might have an unforseen cap on returns. In my case, I was limited by skills.
g) When giving out Dividends, they go to all the stocks equally whether they are sold or not. So some of it goes back in the kitty. If most of the stocks are not sold, most of it goes to the kitty. It would be better if Dividends went only to stock sold.
h) There are lots of evemail and other hidden expenses if every investor is not in your Corporation.
i) Eventually, everyone will want to talk to you about how you are making money and you will not have time to actually make it.
Yep, that about sums up the surface problems. With that said, I rolled up 540 million in 2 months with a starting stock value of 100k and an ending stock value of 500k. In addition, Dividends were paid out along the way. I paid out 10% of stock purchase price to all stockholders as stock was sold and 10% of the profit weekly. Once I reached a value of 500k per stock - I sent out all the profit I was making each week.
This worked well until there were several *bugs* in which CCP did not believe me. So - I gave ALL the money back to whoever was holding the stocks. So I sent out 540 million total those last days. So everyone got back their original money and any earnings since they bought the stock.
What I learned about the market in Eve:
1) Minerals and ore hold their value best 2) Tech 1 items are solid 3) Tech 2 market is wild in it's up and downs 4) Things destroyed the most have the most value 5) Many people don't use what you would think are common items and in this I mean they pick one item for a ship and buy 3-5 of them 6) Markets may be by Region, but they swing wildly locally based on what is happening today 7) People buy out of greed and sell out of fear 8) Danger = Reward 9) Lots of people steal saying Eve is just a game if given a chance.
Most people expect a scam and wonder when you will break. I think that morbid fascination about when the house will collapse is what drives investment most.
(and no - I won't help you - takes way too much work - for random people)
