I have tried salvaging about 200 mission wreaks and have 0 salvage. when I go belt ratting I get a salvage about 30-50% of the time.
The question I have for a Dev or someone in the know is, is this what is intended for salvaging? on the test server just before deployment I was able to loot wreaks in missions just fine.
My salvaging skill is at lvl 3 currently...on SISI it was also lvl 3
this is not a flame or a whine, just seeking information
Thanks for Reading

I do remember the Devs saying you'd get the most out of salvage from players and that npc's would be a very rare salvage experience.

until now I can say that wrecks from structures (heavy missile turret, etc) do not yield any kind of components.
mission npc's such as serpentis and sanshas ships do yield components, altho it's a 50/50 chance. -------

I have heard of problems with certain faction navies not yielding any salvage in missions. That my be the problem. Not sure if it is meant to be that way, though. ------------- Stop whining. |

that is fine if it is true.. I looted belt rats just fine. got salvage about 30-50% of the time. I was able to loot mission wreaks on SISI just fine... it was not a rare experience on SISI.
0 salvage for about 200 wreaks means, don't bother to me.
I am hoping for dev clarification on this. I ran my missions out of hisoufad (.07) system. both lvl 2 and lvl 3 missions gave no salvage.
I have bug reported this, just in case it was not intended.

Please visit the mission forum section and fill your info into the thread about which missions offer salvage results and which do not. --*=*=*--
The cause for this is not yet known, but we do have a possible fix in testing. by Sharkbait | 2006.09.20 |

maybe it is different in Empire. I fought Bloods, Mercs and some sanshas. NO salvage. I tried a bit today and still nada. i will try some more and report back. thanks for the reply!

As a side note, looting is now several times more tedious, because the majority of wrecks will be empty.

Missions have crappy salvage. Belt rats salvage nicely thought.
Probably intentional, though cutting out the single greatest source of wrecks ingame will probably mean that belt rats and PC wrecks will need a salvage boost or T1 rigs will end up costing like the most expensive T2 modules. ----------------

my gripe is u cant destroy wrecks, there is plenty of wrecks with loot in but the ones without loot i want to destroy until i get slavaging, even afterwards i want to be able to clear up wrecks from my mission area cos at moment looting is a real nuisance. it used to take me about 5-10mins dependign on mission, now its just took me an hour.
i'd just lke to be able to clean up my loot and clean wrecks up that dont have any loot or at least rename the wrecks or color code them on overview, anythign to save me pullign in stuff i've no need to.
If NPC's dont salvage then i would much prefer to go back to the old jetcans on missions and leave the wrecks to player ships.

I don't know what the above poster is doing wrong, but you can pop wrecks just as easily as cans. I was doing it last night.
