Its not the noob programmers that get me worked up. Its the homing pigeons that are used to send packets of information back and fro from PC to server. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Kinda of have to agree.
Iv'e not been able to play for a single minute in space today without suffering from the cap bug.
Iv'e seen my burners recharging my cap, to my sheilds boosting themselfs up to 356%, despite only having an armour repairer active.
Yes iv'e logged in and out many times.

Molly.
Dont call the programmers "Noobs" if you cant do any better, if you can do better then show CCP how its done and make your own MMORPG.

Oh MOLLY!
In case you didn't notice, the CCP 'noob' programmers were doing a LOT better than the 'Pro' programsers for SWG.

At least I didn't **** up my applications with each new patch while developing them.
So, Molly please go and do it yourself is invalid. Done it, been there.
FYI: I can't play with this "fully tested" 1246, I am crashing every few minutes at session changes.
So from my perspective:

I was under the assumption that this was an "unofficial" patch and it wasn't "necessary" to download it.
Wait until the automated patcher kicks in, most the time solves alot of problems

I was under the assumption that a fully tested patch would be actually fully tested and official.
Furthermore: I am quite disappointed about crashes while session changing and capacitor bugs, they are in the game since beta, maybe in different incarnations, but they are.
I was happy with the stability of 1238, but now I have been bombed back to the ice age. And I am voicing it, nothing else :P. -- Kasha > Mastema, face the reality: All the juicy dots are gone. -- |

Sorry but this is complete bs.
I donŠt like trolling. But donŠt go tell people how they should program their own game because the game they payed for isnŠt working like it should. I donŠt come telling you how you should make your own brain because yours ainŠt working right, do I? ItŠs after all mother natureŠs fault for messing it up like that and SHE is the one that has to fix it, not you.

Yes quite, quite. Not judging here, just voicing my own opinion too that you shouldn't download anything until they force it down your IP port

I've programmed around 60k C lines of code in a 1,6m lines of code project. It isn't a MMOG, but an operating system for Digital-TV (DVB/MHP) Set-Top-Boxes, with 500k+ customers watching TV. And guess what, if I would ruin a patch for my applications/parts of code as CCP is doing it AND if I would need that long to provide a fix to it: I WOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED INSTANTLY.
I know enough about software development and software quality to troll as much as I want to here, I am qualified and a paying customer, who wants to play the game.
Thank you. -- Kasha > Mastema, face the reality: All the juicy dots are gone. -- |

I have to agree with molly on this one. All the same this patch was not official I think so we just have to deal with it. Now they know and will fix it, others just have to reinstall, big deal, not worth loosing sleep over is it. Praeludium to success |

If it's not official, then can I reinstall EVE and use the 1238 patch? Didn't think so.
That excuse is pointless since they wont LET us revert to 1238.

Sorry, my bad, then its really really stupid. I thought they leaked it out so some could test it and then make it official. I got the patch that way but making it official was a big noob error I would say. Praeludium to success |

Molly you small minded ignorant person, wow you have written 5% of the code for a set top box OS. I expect you had a large team and a nice long time do to it, and you probably get paid quite well too I'd imagine, and could get help from experienced members of your team if you needed it.
I'm a games programmer and I would like to give CCP a pat on back and tell them how well they have done taking all things into consideration. So there's a handful of annoying bugs. On a system as complex as Eve, think of all the things that could go wrong and don't. The huge database, handling 6000 connections at one time, the graphics and sound systems, the AI... and all of this for (I'd imagine) a small team in a relatively short time scale. And on games programmers pay, which I can tell you leaves a lot to be desired.
Perhaps you can think of something more constructive to say next time.

i know i could not do it in life never say your can do it better some one may ask you to and it makes you the fool if you cant

HAve to agree with Chimpy. IT's a fine display of a game.
I'm a game dev myself, work in graphics and not in code, but still i know what the hazzle is in that department.
All things considered it's a damn fine job.
