Just wondering ive always had issues fitting a decent PVP stabber setup i can fit any other dang minnie ship except the stabber I love the ship and i love the speed but i can't seem to make a proper setup with as much combat value as anyone elses stabber. Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on it and point me in a direction. [Sand will Cover this place, -Sand will cover YOU.] |

T2 autocannons (barrage) missiles
MWD 20k scram Large shield extender
nanos or inertial stabs gyro
Go fast, shoot stuff, don't get webbed.

d180's or 220's as grid allows (t2 if you want to splash out), 2*whatever else (assaults probably) mwd, large extender (named good, t2 better), 20km disruptor mix of of nano's and inertia stabs
this setup really shines (or used to shine anyway) with barrage since you can stay out of web range easily, shoot stuff at near max falloff, and run away if things get too rough
might still work in kali, not tried it though ____________________

the issue im mainly having is playing with range and using a decent ammo that will give me more than 10km range and still do decent DPS and not do like 3dmg [Sand will Cover this place, -Sand will cover YOU.] |

With autocannons its all about the falloff range.
Don't try to fight opponents in your optimal, use the insane falloff the guns has.
Now look at those T1 ammos and note that the high damaging ones only effect optimal range (which is small anyway on autocannons).Then laugh
It gets even better when you start using barrage and can hit out to around 20km with your d180's ________________ What you do is you store up the rage, let it fester while you gain strength, then use it to gank those weaker than you... and so the circle of life is complete |

im wondering if i could still use it effectively with tech 1 guns... given the amount of tech 2 gear flying around all over the place and me being unable to use tech 2 mediums yet. I still have about a month and a half to go before tech 2 meds. :-\ [Sand will Cover this place, -Sand will cover YOU.] |

Fly a rupture for T1. Stabber doesn't work T1, it doesn't have the tank to fight it out in web range in most cases.

Its a piece of paper. Folks don't complain so much because its so fast and is a lot of fun to fly. But its not a legitimate ship to enter combat with. To be honest, its more like a slow fat frigate. ____ If your not dyin' your not tryin'. |

The Stabber is still fine with the Barrage nerf. I flew one yesterday in a small gang, it did just fine. I was able to shoot BS's, HACs, pods, frigates and drones nicely, all from outside of web range. I used dual 180 IIs on it, so the tracking was still good. I suspect 220 IIs would have had problems hitting the pods, and maybe the drones.

Anyways, just to confirm this setup,
Highs: 4x Dual 180 Autocannons 2x Assault Missile Launchers
Mediums: 1x MWD, 1x 20k scram (Web for Fleet), 1x Large Shield Extender
Lows: 3x Gyros, or 2x Gyros + 1x Inertia Stab
Alternatively, based on what Shintoko gave me because I have gimped Gunnery skills and don't have Medium Projectile 5 yet,
Highs: 4x 200mm II 2x Assault Missile Launcher
Mediums: 1x MWD, 1x 20k scram, 1x web
Lows: 1x 1600mm Rolled Tungsten Plate, 2x Inertia Stabs
Before people pounce onto this setup, it doesn't make the Stabber any heavier, because the IStabs have negated the additional mass to just a little below the 10mil kg stock mass. Because everyone and their mother knows that once a Stabber's shields are gone, it's screwed. Just something crazy that I run, which I use to ram right into the target's face when I'm not primary. ---------------

My old trusty stabber setup
Highs
4 x 220mm II w/barrage 1 x Heavy missile launcher 1 x Assault launcher II
Mids
1 x 10mn MWD II 1 x Warp Disruptor 1 x Large shield extender II
Lows
2 x Gyrostab II 1 x Nano/inertia (havent tried it with an inertia yet)
Alternatively for extra speed could go with 1 gyro and 2 nanos/inertias
Oh and dont forget the 1 hodgoblin II
Now i have to admit i love this ship long time it is perfect for belt piracy which i use it for in low sec, its ideal for gatecrashing large mining ops as you warp in pew pew blow up some stuff then mwd your ass out of there as you can outrun a lot of frigs, or if you have a ceptor following you you can more or less instapop it if you konw what your doing

LoL so much bull**** in the post. Stabber accelerates faster than a frigate, has more hp, more dps, great tracking with AC and wtf pwns AF damn hard, for a T1 tottaly insurable price. Stabber is one of the best cruisers you can have in 0.0. It all depends on the situation... _________________________________________________ Breetime

I agree Mad. The stabber has so many uses in 0.0 ... heavy tackle, inty, fighter and drone killing duty, fighter delivery tool. She's just so damn fast not many other ships can really bully the smaller fry until you get into say a Sabre and they're not cheap ...
