Obviously haveing more then one account gives you an advantage. But you pay for it, every month. So my questions are: Are multiple acounts legal in Eve? And... What is the common veiw of this practice among players?

With the rise of GTC (Game time cards) anyone making decent hundred isk per week can have many many alts to pay for hence more and more alts are everywhere now

Its very common, a large community of people have more then one account and use their chars they call "alts" :)
I knew one person who had 6 eve accounts, who knows where he found the time for them but he had them.

It's not 100% sportsmanship and fair play, but it's a fact of life. Ideal world where we have 1 player = 1 character is an unreachable utopia.

Having multiple accounts does not mean you can play them simultaniously to the best of their ability. I would much rather go against one person fighting 3 accounts then 3 people on 3 accounts.

Multiple accounts means more cash in CCP's pocket, so making it against the EULA would be a financial mistake on their part.
EVE is a game where it is really tough (I am not saying impossible, just tough) to get much of anywhere totally solo. I get around that by paying for 3 accounts. When I started playing I quickly learned that mining in 0.0 was a good way to make isk, but in order to do so effectively you need to have; 1.the miner in an efficient mining ship (covetor at least). 2. Someone to tank the belt spawns, and 3. Someone to haul for you. When I learned this the light in my head immediately went off... '*ding* HEY, if I give up my fast food and convenience store junk food habit, I can afford to pay for the other 2 accounts!!'. So I made myself a miner, a hauler, and a combat character. I admit, my main reason for running 3 accounts is because I am greedy. I dont want to share that ore with 2 other people, I want it all to my ownself. In addition to being greedy, I hate counting on other people in order to maintain my 'lifestyle' in game. If I have to wait for my hauler buddy to log in order to start mining, that is time lost where I could have been making isk. And last of all, I am an antisocial hermit, and have very little confidence in other peoples ability to perform the tasks I require to my specifications, so I just pay the extra $30 a month and do it myself.
Yea I guess I am not playing 100% 'sportsmanlike' but I get by. Then again, when it comes to pvp, I log the industrials out and just run with the main, so essentially my alts are purely for making ISK.
Dont know why I went into this huge rant, but I guess I feel a little better now ^^

ISK is the real world icelandic currency (Icelandic Kronur)
Between corps atm, the NPC one is strictly a temporary thing.

i have a few but it helps me. i can now go on a pvp op with just me and my alts but when you have a pilgrim arazu and crow doing solo ops is fun
