Ok excuse my ignorance to the topic as i am kinda new. (left EvE a short time after BC's came out..tried em for like 5 mins) But when the BC's first came out it seemed that all they were good for was Gate camping...and not solo.
Am i to understand that BC's are now actually useful in pvp? what about fleet ops as support?
I'm just wondering as i wait to log on after DT.
Btw, how are Gallente BC's to be exact?

Joined post RMR so I don't know when BC's got added, but I do know that they've been my main PvP vessle ever since I set foot in them, and they just got boosted even more so they're definently viable PvP vessles.
As for Galante specifically, the brutix is definenlty a good PvP BC, not sure about the new one.
IMO, BC's are going to become the most common PvP ship out there.

Very viable indeed.
Awesome, no less.

They are definately viable for PvP. I wouldn't go as far to say they'll become the most commong PvP ship out there however, whilst fleet mechanics are still as they are BS will still be the king of the hill in that respect, as as far as solo and small gang goes I much prefer HACs and Recons unless maybe flying a command.
Originally by: Ebedar Hyperion setup that put out about 1500 DPS, yet it still lost to a ridiculously well well tanked BC.
Wrong?

The Brutix is a gunnery boat very good for nasty blaster platform, or nice longer range rail setup, while the new Myrmidon is more like a mini domi, relays more on drone dmg and tank, while nossing and disabling your enemy.
BC¦s are veeery good for pvp since you can kill loads of stuff in them and they aint that expensive =P

I think considering their eventual price point, they will be the new staple ship in skirmishes. They have always been viable though. ____ If your not dyin' your not tryin'. |

They are a lot of fun, and the only real threat are battleships. And ships you cant hit, but I would like to see a Crow take down one of the battle cruisers in less than 30 minutes...

Better yet, before it runs out of ammo.

The real question is, are cruisers viable anymore relative to the new bcs and their agility?

Apples and oranges.. (t1) Frigates viable (t1) Cruisers are viable (t1) Battlecruisers are viable etc.
As long as you keep it withing its role every ship is a viable PvP platform.. cruisers are viable by sheer ease of replacing them.

Thrasher with Highs of 7x 280mm II's (or was it 6 x and a 250mm?), Mids of 2x Sensor Booster II's, 1x Tracking Comp II, and two Gryo II's in the lows is still amusing while part of a gang on a gate.
Great survivability too. No-one ever shoots the Destroyer first.
Cheap as dirt as well.

Yum, the taste of red hot insta-gank. I tried to fight a shark with a pistol underwater once, and I'll be damned if he didn't laugh at me and eat me. Sharks need a ******* nerf. True story.
