It is now seven weeks since the beginning of the Mito Campaign between the Star Fraction and the Kimotoro Directive. In this time we have seen the Directive diminished from a robust and outspoken nationalist militia with designs on projecting Caldari influence further into the lawless frontier, to its current state as a tiny remnant of huddling die-hards fearing even to leave their stations on a weekly basis. Kimotoro Directive influence in Mito constellation is dead. Every ally they have called to the fight has now formally acknowledged this reality by their own words and actions and there is no longer any mere glimmer of hope for the remaining corps of the Directive: TKI and GileadĘs Bullet.
From an initial roster of support in the hundreds, the present status of Kimotoro registers just 17 lonely souls remainding in alliance colours and our intel reports show only (4) of them have been active in stations during the last seven days. Our warriors have seen just one of that group in space this week (albeit fleetingly) since we swiftly eliminated his Brutix class battlecruiser in the last symbolic engagement of the war.
With the departure of Apex Unlimited from the Directive a couple of days ago their last significant ally was gone. As others have described this campaign as a complete and unquestioned victory for the free captains of the Star Fraction we can do no less than recognise the wisdom of external perception in this matter and conclude the campaign is formally ended and the battle for Mito is done.
We are withdrawing our Concord sanctioned war declaration at this time since no further opposition exists to our vessels in space.
Independent and self-reliant Free Captains have proved their arts and talents and fresh vision in this conflict. And we have left an enduring symbol and example here: let no one look to the State for protection and consensual-slavery in this new era of individual responsibility and commercial expansion. Fight for yourselves! Take your own freedom! Arm your vessels well and do what is necessary to ensure your liberty from aggressors of all shades and cunning persuasions. But do not hide under the shabby veil of the Caldari State, only your own strength and vision as empowered star-faring individuals can protect you from the challenges of post-human cultural evolution to come.
But we leave a warning for some:
To those few Caldari Nationalists of TKI and GileadĘs Bullet who have failed either to acknowledge the end of this war or seek terms for its nullification we will be watching you in months to come. You are beaten, you know you are beaten, Mito knows you are beaten. But since your false and febrile pride prevents your formal surrender it will thereby guarantee our aggression in the future when we see any sign of movement or activity from your organisational and corporate identity. Recover if you can, recruit and rebuild by all means, but we shall be there to destroy your designs and schemes whenever they take shape in the future to ensure that nothing but bitter ash will be your reward for the crass dishonesty in the face of this clear, significant and undeniably total defeat.
This then has been the Mito Campaign. I hope everyone has enjoyed reading about it. Watch this space for the next instalment of the Star Fraction vs Nationalist Tyranny coming soon to a holotheatre near you!

Although it does pain me to say it, I do have to tip my hat to the Star Fraction for running a successful military campaign. Politics and propaganda aside, (and I mean all politics, lest I become ill thinking about what you all believe in) I think there's no shame in acknowledging the victors, and respecting their successes on the battlefield. I'd give a congratulations to KD for a well-run campaign as well, but I would be unable to do so in good conscience, as the few weeks that my corp mates and I spent in their alliance were spent mostly in stations, observing a significant lack of fighting spirit and willingness to lose ships to their enemies. My apologies if I'm ruffling any feathers here, I'm less than a minor player in all of this, but I'm just speaking from personal experience. My intent is not to hurt anyone's feelings, and I'm saddened that they were unable to win the conflict...... but speaking objectively, it seemed to be going downhill from the get-go. My hope is that they will someday renew their strength and take up the fight once again. Until then, unfortunately, to the victors the spoils.

the number of pilots that declared their intent to look to their own interests and so break free of the state during this campaign made it essential, and pointed to us that we must continue the fight. --------------------------------------------

Edited by: Steel Actual on 03/12/2006 06:21:46 Dear Jasmine Constantine,
I salute your war skill and that of your pilots, although I have had no personal interest in the conflict I have tried to keep up to date on it.
Your war diaries although obviously and understandably biased to your side of things were excellent and I enjoyed reading them, what a shame that so far no one from the other side has followed suit.
Indeed our little fracas with the Black Rabbits was recorded by one of my pilots who was inspired by your diaries. (although only two posts long not seven weeks! )
Now that you have apparently crushed your opponent which nationalist entity will be next to feel your boot on its throat? Amarr, Matari, or Gallente?
I look forward to future publications of Star Fractions diaries

Well, the immediate future is going to be total war against a mercenary corporation hired by employers unknown to stop us going where we please. I think everyone knows just how well that goes down with Free Captains. If the mercenaries show some spine and the conflict blossoms into something significant you can expect updates and campaign reports right here.

I have been following this conflict with interest.
I feel I have some similar experience with Caldari Nationalists from my time spent in the Rogues organisation. Although we found some of our foes honourable and possessing backbone and stomach many simply failed to back up their continued blustering with actions in space.
It is to my relish that total destruction has been caused to some of the huge ego's rather than accept what is true or lose any face. The silence of the galaxies largest ego, Nikolai Nuvolari is, in particular, most satisfying.
As i believed i mentioned at the time, the attitudes and behaviour we (Rogues at the time) encountered would cause further trouble and destruction upon themselves. Most comforting to see this predicition come to reality.
My most sincere congratulations to all Star Fraction Pilots involved.

Been my experience too actually. Some devoted pilots fighting hard and some windbags doing absolutely nothing but stoking the fires on galnet.

Well getting him to shut up on galnet was one of the trickiest elements of campaign logistics but I think we managed it Personally I think it was the "unarmed amarri frigate" full of battleship parts that Selim blew up in Jita that broke his will finally.

Its the way of Eve. If you make a loud noise eventually somebody will come to test your resolve. In this case the test has been applied and some have been found wanting. I'm hoping that Caldari-nationals will learn from this experience and look less to Statist blowhards for inspiration in the future. The Caldari capsuleers have the potental to be truly successful post-human independents and business people. All they need is to forget that dross about "caldari prime" and the dictates of the CEP and get back to exploiting the potentials of open space and look to their own defense.
Quote: My most sincere congratulations to all Star Fraction Pilots involved.
Thank you very much.

Sadly they were beaten by their own timidity the moment you declared war, the next seven weeks was just going through the motions.

Although the reservist of CAIN can be considered a militia, most of the other members of KD during this war were industrialist or research firms willing to fight what they believed in. Kudos to them for lasting as long as they did.

Edited by: Tomahawk Bliss on 04/12/2006 19:41:34 Mito is always contested, but for sure there is not significant Caldari Paramilitary presence. The State has lost the influence and the Gurista and Free Spacers have gained it.

Hamish Grayson, speaking of timidity I noticed you weren't really involved at all. you cast insults on Kimotoro and company but did you lift a finger for the State you claim to support?
Edit: also your quote of mine is out of context and it makes a point that isn't valid all the time but rather was for a specific person. I request you remove my name from that quote at least if you intend to use it for your own ends.

I would like to take this moment to congratulate The Star Fraction on their impressive campaign. Their foes were efficiently scattered to the winds and the Mito region stands as a testament to free access for those with the strength to grasp it.
Buisiness is good and I wont forget your contributions any time soon.

Congratulations, the lack of a formal surrender means very little. With the general security found inside their stations some pilots can be very stuborn, valuing the welfare of their ego over that of their corp. KD's lack of response to this statement should be evidence enough that they have been truly crushed.

KD, Apex, and CAIN are friends and allies of mine, I cast no insults just an objective observation as to why they lost. SF spent the entire we proclaiming KD was weak and pathetic, now they are implying they they've defeated a mighty enemy. My comment was a sublte way of throwing it back in their face. It pains me to no end that they weren't the victors.
Further, I applied to both CAIN and APEX during the war, but they were not accepting applications.

I request you remove my name, that comment was specific to one person and the way you have it now does not express my intent. It is out of context. If you feel the sentiment (as you want to show it) is worth having, then by all means keep it. But i request you remove my name from it. There is no reason to have my name on it, it is hardly an idea i came up with.

Are you high?
Hmmm.....You call KD a mighty force, yet they hide indefinitely inside the stations. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure that out. If they are mighty, according to you, how come they did not come out and fight? Might is shown through force on the battlefield, and not bore your enemies to their graves by such inaction.

Congratulations. I admit you dominated the systems in the Mito constellations and a total victory is indeed the result. I hope those who lost their lives during this war will finally find their peace.
The Patriot Pact still considers you an enemy and will attempt to disrupt any of your operations should the opportunity arrise, we expect you'll return the favour whenever you can.

Edited by: Sarchez on 09/12/2006 01:25:37 I have remained silent throughout this campaign as Rogues were, and for the most part still is, pursuing personal objectives elsewhere. I do not believe in spoken words, backed up with little or no action behind them. During this campaign, we did not have sufficient resources to deploy and have a significant impact, so we decided to sit back. As long as things were going in the right direction.
Each report was reviewed, and public statistics were studied daily. Warnings were issued to the scattered rogues, that recalling might not be far off. The vote had been passed, if the need for our particular skills arised. It never did.
Our position in this really can't surprise anyone. The refugee alliance we inadversitly forced the creation of, are no more. For this, I wish to thank the pilots of Star Fraction and the Black Rabbits.
By the time you went on this campaign, the Kimotoro Directive were no longer the refugees we had left. But a, shall we say, "well monitored" organization that would have enticed many more pod-pilots with their propaganda.
Cain on the run again, TKI and Gilead's Bullet following their consistant stream of failures....Apex Unlimited attempting to help again...I've not had the pleasure of targeting Infinite Dreams Inc. as of yet, but who knows what the future brings. The Patriot Pact throwing themselves in, I bet they got some matar genes in them..The Caldari Border Patrol surrendering...Even the Amarr supporters, tucked tail and ran!
I think there's very little else to be said. A campaign well run!
