However small my epeen may be, I thought advertising to everybody your ability would possibly enhance combat.
Ship Mastery or Certificate level are no longer public, but they used to be. Want to be able to show your epeen? With this new idea you can. Toggle off 'Cloak my ship's ePeen.' After all, it is a special antenna for special occasions; you don't want to just go around showing it to everybody. Or do you?
Mastery: Badger IV
-Armor Reinforcement IV
-Core Spaceship Operation IV
-Navigation IV
-Shield Reinforcement IV
For one of my alt's Badger level 4 mastery I have: Armor Reinforcement - Elite, Core Spaceship Operation - Elite, Navigation - Advanced, and Shield Reinforcement - Elite. Those certificate levels equate to Badger mastery IV and 60.5 days training to Badger mastery V. So, as an example on this alt I would fly the Badger with ePeen IV Antenna.
With the current levels of certificates involved in the ISIS ship levels, I was thinking of how to add a visual representation of that training which allows players to toggle it on/off depending on needs. If they want to bluff, toggle it OFF (cloaked antenna). If they want to show their cards so to speak, toggle their ePeen to ON (uncloaked antenna). That huge antenna sticking up towards the north pole shows everybody how serial, dedicated, and hard your pvp skills are. Let this happen.
Now for how it should look. I am not into graphics design, so ccp will have to come up with something to make it look good. But as far as the concept goes, I tried to keep it simple. They were drawn in powerpoint and overlayed onto screenshots taken from the game.
As for what color the antenna should be normally, I guess that could be left up to individual pilots. Here are some (maybe SFW) examples. I just went with black for simplicity; as far as location, this spot on the badger made it easy to choose. Other players or maybe developers may find better spots for placement, especially since I have only chosen a single ship to highlight this idea.

As an additional side idea, this could be turned on for NPC ships as well for comedic effect, but there is potential there to encourage players to always have this toggled on. Think of this as some sort of bonus increase percentage for bounty prizes for non-player character (NPC) pod and players' capsule. Take that to mean some players and most NPC pilots are cocky and die in a horrible fire because of it. Though, I still think NPC pod kill should reward NPC bounty prizes, not the ships. |

It doesn't really need anyone's approval, looks like the e.p.e.e.n. supports itself. I am onboard with that. They might come out in liquid form though. This **** gets hot when plugged in. Oh crap, need new batteries. Der it go. Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

meh its fun idea and not the usual stuff. And its Friday....I'll take this over what I am starting to call bad replay Friday. "new" ideas about the same (bad) ideas. Often times on page 2 if not on page 1 still. Always starts on Friday and rides out the weekend most times. |
