I have two main accounts and have opened a trial account to test and see if I could effectively use 3 account and try out the new character creation. However after one logon and logout, it says "While we appreciate your enthusiasm to try EVE, we would also appreciate if you could limit yourself to using a single trial account at a time." but I only have one trial account and more than likely I plan on taking it to a full account once I see what the new character can do. Thanks!

This was made to stop people abusing trial accounts as scouts, trial macro accounts etc. basicly stop the abuse of trial account/spammage of them while using your main to do stuff.

You may only have 1 client running if any of them are trial accounts.

if no other client than the trial is running, id say its a bug.

I am pretty sure that you can not have ANY trial account if you already have a main account.

I made sure that ALL other clients were closed but to my understanding as long as the other clients are closed you could still have one. Anyone know for sure?

Originally by: Patch Notes It is no longer possible to log into a trial account if there is already an active client running on the same computer (subscription or other trial).
Hm, active client? Depends on CCPs definition...

Are you maybe sitting behind a router that does NAT (Network Adress Translation) with somebody behind it also playing eve? That could make it appear to the server as if a main and a trial are running on the same IP. --- The Advanced Drone Control Panel. |

Currently you cannot run two active clients on the same box if one account is tagged as a "trial" account. You can run a trial account on one computer and your main account on a seperate box.
Essentially you need a computer for each account now.
NATs...routers...that has nothing to do with it. The IP is yes the same, but the packets are different. ;)

I thought it was really smart when i thought about it. A trial account ~could~ be used as an efficient loot grabber for a mission runner etc. Also I hope they made it so two trial accounts dont load either to slow down any would be abuser of other things. Just cause it doesnt stop every abuse doesnt mean its not a quick simple thing to slow down some abuses.
