I was reading about full scale factional warfare and the medal system for awarding people who serve their chosen loyalist Faction.
This is more of a question to the Dev team if they are inteding to, and to ask the opinion of the playerbase if they feel that, it would be a good idea to implement the following :
Basically I was wondering with the arrival of "Medals", would the CEO of a corporation be able to award medals for distingushed service, outnumbered kills, number of kills, losing a pod in combat and other medals such as those for bravery in combat, I.E. going back into a blob to get your mate out alive Etc.
I was also wondering how hard it would be to implement an extra tab on a person's biography known as "Awards" where these would be displayed, that would be carried from corporation to corporation for all to see in a similar fashion to the employment history.
Effectively this would be like earning medals such as the Victoria Cross in British Army, or a Purple Heart or Silver Star in the US Army.
An alternative to the tab in the Bio could be a band of ribbons, as seen on parade uniforms in most armies that denote which awards have been recieved.
What I'm thinking of is a basic set of medals which would have a common name for their award regardless of corporation, but would carry the name of the corporation they were awarded by, so for instance such as the following two examples but my corp name substituted for the name of the awarding corp :
Veto Distinguished Service Medal - Awarded to a pilot for outstanding ability in the line of duty.
Veto Morphite Cross - Awarded to a pilot for a selfless act of bravery in the line of duty.
I'm unsure as to how the medals system will work fully, but it would be nice for a CEO to be able to further reward members of their corp for good actions and tactics in game.
I'm also unsure if this has been specifically discussed before?
What do you guys think?

I cant see a reason why not and it would be great for those times you need to recognise a players achevement in your corp. Sure you can give them a ship but they get popped eventualy, isk gets spent but a medal/award is another Epeen to show off.
I would like the factional NPC medals to maybe do something special tho. For example maybe they could be like implants for standing? IE Caldari Navy Star gives +5% to caldari Navy standing etc. That way you may go out of your way to run a mission series for a corperation that isnt just the respective faction Navys thus easing congestion on lvl 4 navy agents.
Hell, if you dont like that idea maybe you get a Medal and another reward that is semi unique/rare but the flip side is you cant earn that medal again. I.E. You get granted the Umato Cross and also get given a navy frigate for your trouble. Not overpowered but its a nice toy.
