I love eve and at first the break I would get at 9pm was sorta nice ... but now my missions take up to 3 hours and daylight saving is on now,(10pm-11pm) I have very late nights :(
Its was the same with wow, just seems like us Aussies always get the short straw on maintenance times. Why not just rotate it a bit, or have missions stay cleared over maintenance :)

You could always do what most Aussies seem to do and take a bar-job in London 
I swear there are more of you guys in Soho than in Sydney ;)

You do know that all static content like complexes give Aussies and Russians the biggest advantage of EVE. Why would you slap every other timezone in the face by complaining?

Because that's what people do, it seems. Every so often, someone starts another thread complaining about the downtime, and how it happens at an inconvenient time for them. They assume that everyone in their timezone is going to back them up, but they fail to realize pretty much everyone in this game has run into downtime while playing.
They deal with it, because it happens at a known time of the day, for a known duration.

The downtime is at a time which is convenient for the people who have to do the maintainance.
Makes sense, doesn't it?

It is also, unfortunately for the Aussies, a fact that the vast majority of players are from some country in Europe or the Americas. And you can't please everyone.

We swedes have to downtime in the middle of the day (12-13), so if you¦re having a day off or just quit early from work/school you walk right into DT :P

ok first of imm an aussie
now lets brake this it to pros and cons
con's
late nights to do misions
haveing to stop playing eve for an hour
missing a night of playing every extended down time
pros
haveing less people on server
haveing something to make you go eat do washing and such
haveing a chance to run gate camps just befor and after dt
haveing complexs to your self
haveing something to stop you form becoming a eve zombie
i think that i like down time

The reason the downtime is at the current time is because its at a convenient time for CCP and it pleases the most people.
