My advice, wait with Windows 10 until it doesn't force updates on you and it doesn't send all your user data to Microsoft. |

As above 2 answers. Kind of why you should never update to a new windows OS until you have to.
If they offer 1 year for free download, wait til day 364 to take it up!!

M$ is not complety incompetent. The OS Core got very good over the years. Privacy innocence is long gone with facebook and partners, so what?
You can configure what you want to send to M$.
Like Apple, M$ is able to deliver a modern OS, but with much broader HW compabilty.
And the current linux is very nice too.

OS/2 Warp came out 10 years before XP. Things would have been a lot better and much earlier if MS hadn't bailed on IBM.
