Being new to MMORPG's can someone please explain the origin of this style of text/chat. I'm assuming it is something that has generated out of various other online games but I could be wrong.
I'd appreciate a geniune response as I'm just curious and interested from where it came from and what it means.

Well mainly AFAIK it originated in games like Half-Life, Quake and it's Mods such as Counter Strike, where the action was intense and typing into a keyboard had to quick so spelling mistakes and shortend speech was a nessesity.
Which bit do you need translating?

a piss poor, but always amusing way of communicating.
caps+typos is a popular one, and one which I prefer to the rather 'last-year' made-up-letters-leet-speak (|_úú7 5Pú4|<), which looks shite and is a pain in the ass to read.
I have noticed quite a few people using it so far, some in pure rage, others in frustration, some in fun.
Just take it as a sign that they shouldn't be taken seriously, one way or another.

Yeah pretty much. Started on the BBS'es in the 80'ies or even before.

I must say I DID NOT lump all CS players in the same boat, how ever I DO say that the typo speak started there. I played HL, CS, TFC, DoD etc etc for many years and it tended to be the moronic kids(or idiotic adults) who were either very very good, or cheating (in my experience)
