Ran the blockade level 2, in a Brutix (I'm waiting till drones are fixed before I move back into lvl3's ) & had to warp out. Mainly because my drones kept killing the named spawn scripted members from each group ( 3 & a half groups at one point all with in 15km :S ). Also because I was being dampened down to 16km, when my range is 19 - 32km ( do alright up to 42 but not as good ). For a lvl2, its quite hard, I wouldn't have ever considered doing it in my crusier now I've run it in my BC. I think the main thing was the Drones not listening to commands that just got me swamped. My shields just dissapeared and the reaction time on the armour repper & hardners just wasn't happening fast enough.
However I note the Roids in the mission are mined with EMPs, good thing I didn't have a navi in there, when there was 500emp Damage from three roids :P
Are missions going to get mined more often now or can I go back to making a living missioning & mining, as thats the way I've split my skills so I'm able to do both. I note a couple of missions I usually stop to mine are no longer appearing, have they been cut or just not happening so often ?
Looting a decent Hull Expander was nice too :P . ------------------------- Rats, Rats The Magical Fruit, The More You Pop, The More You Loot ! |

Edited by: TTIGER on 05/12/2006 13:57:20 First congratulations for succesfully finishing the mission. These missions still ingame my agents offered several times (i dont accept illegal activity and tech secrets may be why they offered ) so you can mine and do missions just need some luck and time to get mission you want i guess

This is a horribly difficult mission for a level 2. I am seriously thinking of foregoing my drones entirely. Missiles seem to be advisable, I was told to keep my distance. I think the key thing is finding the leader and killing him soon. If you head back right away after warping out it tends to summon a large group of other pirates as well. When that happens, they'll web and kill you. Trick is to keep out of range of their webbing.
One of the few missions yet where you really may have to rethink your fittings before you head in there. Be READY to warp out. It doesn't really give you much time to get it done.

This is by far my favorite mission in lvl 2 range. To be honest, it's not that hard if you use a lil skill, and a lil thinking. I use a plate vexor with hammerhead drones for this and have not had to warp out once. A few things to help you
1. Use range, most of the npc's in this mish have to be within 10km to be effective so if you can blow em up before they get close, your set.(using drones i fit a drone link augmentor to give my drones a range of almost 60km) 2. Dont attack the bosses first! Yes, they do more dmg than the frigs and destroyers, but when you take out the leaders, that's when the next wave arrives. I always take out the lil guys first then i can repair my armor and refill my cap while orbiting the cruisers and letting my drones ping away at them. Once they go pop, you have a small window to set yourself before the next wave gets in range 3. Always Orbit, i got used to just sitting there and letting my drones do the work for most lvl 2 missions, but in this one you need to orbit something and keep your speed/range high versus the higher dmg'ing npc's. I usually orbit the cruisers because at 5km they just can't hit you effectively.
Hope this info helps

I have rum Blockade Lvl 2 at least 4 times with 2 different pirate groups (guristas and the one's that fly gallente ships), in a cheaply fitted (non named) caracal, with a less than 2 mill SP character (1+ mill in training skills). I have used the generic tank (use the same one to do all lvl 2's) and use the missiles I have in excess at that moment (Kin or thermal).
I didnŠt have any problems running it, only used the shield booster 1 or 2 times per mission, for a brief moment, because I don't bother to move my ship, and sometimes they all get to me at the same time.
The trick is to keep the bigger ships for the end, only kill the cruisers/Destroyers last, and get yourself some 40-50km away from everything during the first spawn.
Then you can enjoy the 1+ million ISK your wallet gains!

I love this mission
I haven't run the Gallente version (being Caldari) but its really no issue with a MissileRox, I've done it a couple of times without needing to turn on the one invul field I carry even though I woke up 2 levels by accident the first try. I've also ran the level 3 version in a gang with a Caracal and another Rox without much problem. Takes a while, but the loot is good, the salvage decent and the bounties great!
I haven't run it with a cruiser but I'm sure that I could without too many issues with my Caracal as I can use my range. With the Ferox I just sit there and tank them as its so slow you can't really maneuver. <-----------> MMORPG == Massively Moronic Online Raw Powergaming Grief fests....

I've got mine two days ago, and i'm lucky i've decided to go there in my retribution, instead of arbitrator as usual - this saved me if not my rear part, but the time at least. In retribution, i found this mission really interesting (for level 2 mission of course).
And, uh, ccp, please fix the damn drones....

whole hartedly agree on this one, it's a must to use range here, i warped in with my Rupture ( my mains name is Joria Klex a minmatar idk why i the character sheet is down) and got slapped upside the head in it, i felt it thru the monitor. If you havent invested time into After Burners...this mission will make you invest!

Well, I ran Blockade 2 in about 4 1/2 hours ... in a passive shield-tanked Rifter. Since I thought this was actually another mission, I used my typical knife-fighting configuration where the ship rarely gets below 50% shields. After nearly losing her on more than one occasion, I finally decided to replace the rockets with missiles since I couldn't seem to pull the blob apart and finish off the bandits piecemeal. I successfully eliminated the destroyers with the missles and waited patiently to separate the faster frigates from the blob (I only had 125mm AC with me and had to close the distance). I guess I'll need to pick up a few artillery pieces on my return trip :)

No biggie in an enyo with 125 Rails. Used Neutron Blasters before but closing up on the rats always took so long and i am a lazy bum.
Guess this mission is great fun in Assault Frigs.

The L2 version? How do you counter the tracking disrupter? I fly w/ beam lasers and tried both Medium and Small with best T1 tracking augmenter I could find... and can't hit anything once the Centii Loyalist disrupt me.

Enyo has tracking bonus, seems to counter 1 Disruptor. But I usually end up with Grtistas, that have an other way (jamming) to be extremely annoying.
Lasers are a lot more sensible to TD than hybrids.

About having problem in this mission... I finished it with ease (considering I had 2 fps and lots of lag) in a celestis with shield extenders and single thermal hardener for tank :) Drones were of course main damage dealers, but I had no control what so ever.
