with all the different skills available for missile, how can you quickly find out whar your current missile range is, without doing all the maths? not the locking target range as i know this is in the fittings
thanks

You can't.
The only way to determine maximum range is to multiply the flight time by the missile's velocity.
There are 2 shortcuts though - while in space, if you show info on your ship, modules tab, then information on your missiles (not the launchers), you'll find out the modified flight time and velocity.
You can also do this in station - show info on your missiles (not the launchers) in the fittings screen.
Bear in mind that in the case of rockets and standard missiles, the flight time is truncated to an interger value, but the actual value will be used.
EG: If you have Missile Bombardment to 2 (+20% flight time) your standard missiles will use 5.4 seconds, but it will still be displayed as 5 seconds.

The quickie way to determine this is simply to multiply flight time by missile velocity. This will put you very close to the true range of your missile. Keep in mind that this is close, but not exact. You do have to realize factors such as your opponent's speed/direction and missile acceleration have an effect on your range.

thanks, thats excellent. I can work out that little maths!
there must be 10 missiles skilss with 5 levels, some giving 2% for this 10% for that per level, just thought the working out would be a nightmare, but thanks very much for that tip

That's the only way to figure out how long your missiles will fly. It's a bit unfair, since the turrets have a pre-calculated range on the 'show info' tab.

Yes this is something any missile user needs to learn and understand. A very eye opening example that I experienced when I first learned the ability to use torpedoes... I had said something in corp chat, and a corpmate responded with 'Hey lets see if you can hit my inty'. He met me at a planet and I started tossing torps at him, and proceeded to watch him outrun them! After that fun little demonstration the corpmade referred me to the missile guide in the player guide. -=^=-

Also, when looking at Flight Time x Speed for maximum range, remember to shave a few thousand meters off of that range to compensate for acceleration and any maneuvering the missile might have to do, ESPECIALLY against small fast targets like frigs. --- What good are actions if there's no one to tell the tale afterward?...

No it isn't. Turrets show their optimal and falloff ranges, just like missiles show their max speed and max flight time. Neither weapon shows their max range (though I must say it would be nice to have the speed/velocity show on the launcher's Show Info if the launcher was loaded).

Actually there's only 3 skills which affect missile range.
Missile Projection - affects missile velocity.
Missile Bombardment - affects flight time
A possible ship bonus - eg Caldari Cruiser on a caracal affecting missile velocity.
The other missile skills affect damage, damage calculations and rate of fire.

IF you turn on your tactical overlay and hover your mouse over your missile launcher when you have something targeted the a white cross will appear when that target is out of range but will denote the maximum missile range.
