Um...wtf?
What is the point of bookmarks if you cant bookmark an important station you want to be able to get back to easily? ALL my useful bookmarks are stations!

You can dock instantly and warp to 0km to every station now. No need to have a BM.. Unless maybe in a system full of stations to remember which was the right one (I use then Assets).

No.
Assets have some similar properties to bookmarks but they do not replace bookmarks entirely. With this recent change, the only thing you can bookmark are safe spots. That is stupid.
1) That is basically using Assets as a replacement for bookmarks. That is just silly.
2) You would have to visit the station first to leave an item there if you wanted to "bookmark" it.
3) That does not tell you why you bookmarked it. If I wanted to make a bookmark for "repair shop" etc, I cannot do that by dropping items in hangars, unless I have a special lookup system where I know that dropping an armor repair unit at a station means it has a repair station etc, and this is just incredibly dumb.
4) It is slower and assets dont let you set the text of the bookmark
5) Bookmarks can be organized into folders, assets cannot.

I already started to use "Bookmark Location" on some stargates; I fully intend to continue that for stations after today's patch. The convenience of having short mnemonics for your most-used locations selectable from the root of the right-click menu cannot be underestimated. I don't want to have to navigate through sub-menus that stretch all over the screen, left-to-right or right-to-left depending on where I issue the button-click, with the full names of all stations covering up huge swaths of screen real-estate while I'm trying to quickly dial up somewhere to warp to. I want the locations I need in the root, so I can access them quick.
