Facetious One	Posted - 2006.12.05 16:44:00 - [1] This thread was developed to conglomerate all the threads we will be seeing over the next 1/2 hour such as: I cant log on The screen is frozen at "Entering game as <input whiners name here>" IT IS SO LAGGY!!!! CCP IS BAD...LAG IS HORRIBLE... This thread is for those ignorant souls that do not realize that over 20,000 people are trying to connect.

On normal days, which is quite different from the kind of lag everyone should be experiencing now. Some people fall so in love with their cars they're willing to overlook rusty bits and crappy windshield wipers. Do any of these "CCP is good, people who moan are bad" types have decals and "go faster" stripes on their monitors? I'm not sure, but I suspect so.

However checking it again after i logged off showed only 15k on the server, a number it normally copes with fine. I'll assume for now that it's a temporary anomaly, but it does worry me a little.

Tbh, the OP could have spent his time far better by starting a thread that helps those who are unused to the issues associated with MMORPG's. Maybe an explanation thread explaining what has happened and the potential reasons for it. The main driving theme would be one of patience, rather than his chosen theme of eye-poking and mickey-taking. As far as I am concerned, this is a thread that helps no-one and solves nothing. It merely serves to show the OP up as much of a whiner as those who actually have valid concerns about gampelay - who I find difficult to class as 'whiners', personally.

According to your logic, CCP may accept as many new users as its wallet will like. According to your logic, diehard addicts, online for most of the day, may prevent other users from logging in. According to your logic, we pay a monthly fee, to be part of the community. We must not expect to play an online game without lag and we must not expect to play whenever we want. I find your char name ill chosen. Let me rephrase: no lag in 0.0, and we no longer need to gather isk and mission in higsec; don't bother about the newcomers in those regions; let's care about ourselves! No wonder the vets seldom whine about lag, and curse newcomers for even mentioning it. My portrait's all crumbled to a ! Estimate: 2 more years, for CCP, to fix it.

Some of the posts regarding logging in during obviously high connection attempts are tedious because he's probably seen them many, many times before. I agree that there is a distinction between whining and legitimate complaint.

Tbh Spot, I could, you are correct. However, I didn't state that that type of thread is needed 'so badly'. They are your words. I personally do not have an issue with the game. I can log in or I can't, no worries either way. Always something to be doing in RL. I have only ever played this game, and nothing else [except Civilisation - does that count?] and have grown used to these issues. Those who have much more knowledge and experience of this and other games like WoW, etc would probably be much better suited to start a thread such as mentioned.

It is a post patch item. Happens when I click on anything in space, rightclick on anything in order to bring up a window, click on a station, click on anything. Can't navigate because of it, can't dock at my home office station because i'm apparently 'in queue' even though there is no one else in my system. I can't get through any stargates because they are all locked... but i can't get to them anyway because of that window that keeps popping up. I read the patch notes, and i don't seem to recall anywhere where it said: General notes: All Navigation post-patch will be 100% impossible. All items that were clickable will now be 100% useless. All stargates will be locked by Traffic Control, and sending all session changes will be subject to a 1 minute + wait period. Would you like to Restart the Client now?

"The cluster is not currently accepting connections" How nice....Maybe they can quit accepting payments as well.
