Can I suggest a small piece of software to ccp to enable people to log on and change skills without loading up the entire client, something like evemon but interactive? Many times i have tried to log on at busy times just to change a skill but been unable to; I cant be alone in this.
Such a small piece of software could be made available to other formats such as palm, and java too so that people could change skills using a mobile phone. I'm sure you could license someone else to write it and in the end it would only benefit players as it would mean fewer people were having to enter tha whole game structure needlessly.
Apologies if this has already been suggested, I just find it amazing that such a thing hasn't been produced.

Well, this is ideed related to skill queueing. But anyways, why making an app (or different apps for different devices) when it can be made via a web interface (and used almost on all devices, included phones)?. I'd like to use a web interface to more aspects of Eve. A thematical portal will be great. Regards.

Edited by: MWEI on 05/12/2006 21:00:58 while this idea has been around for years, i think the main reason devs never thought about implementing is because with eve client, it forces you to physical sit down and say "now i will play eve and change my skill", whereby if you just have a lite skill change, alot of people would simply use that program everyday without ever playing for month. Though technically there's no difference, that is its not anywhere near skill queeing, you still have to physically change each individual skill, it does not encourage participation in the game.
As for web based interface, I doubt that will ever happen, since most web based apps could be easily controled by third party softwares that send crafted packets to the server, in effect acting as a skill queeing system (though this might also work for clients, correct me on that one).
