Before Revelations EvE ran beautifully on my computer. Dual core CPU, 4GB of dual channel Ram, dual video cards, dual monitors. Smooth and playable.
Since the release of Revelations last week I've been getting 1.5 FPS, yes I said one-point-five frames-per-second. The screen freezes then fast-forwards every 1.5 seconds (or so) to update the screen then freezes again. Which doesn't effect much when mining in low sec, but cost me about 200m isk in lost ships during a mission. I figured I could live with the glitch for a week till todays patch, but the problem was not fixed.
I've tried tweaking every in-game video setting and then moved onto tweaking the video card settings. Nothing I can do affects the performance of the game.
Anyone else have or had this problem? Any known issues that cause this and a fix for it?
Thank you for your time in reading this.

It does run a little slower on my system but nothing to worry about. It's so strange when I see people with this kind of problems on different games when everything is fine on my very very crappy P3 777mhz and 64mb video card... I would love to help you but I don't have any real answer, however most of the time when people get this kind of problems it's because of the dual CPU.

Same deal here. I had similar problems before Kali with the frequent mini-freezes, but switching affinity made it go away (mostly). Now in Kali nothing works at all. And now I'm getting lots of perma-freezes too. Actually a couple times my mobo has beeped at me when closing EVE after a freeze.
I've got a top-end system too. Crossfire MVP deluxe mobo, x1900xtx card, 2gb ram, amd dual core 4400+
I've been through troubleshooting with the tech support petition deal. Nothing will fix it.

I hate too say this but i think its your PC,
The reason I say this is because, my PC recently died and I moved too my spare untill I get new parts, anyway, its a very old compaq with a 500mhz processor and a whopping 128 MB of 133mhz RAM!! and i got, wait for it, 17 FPS Thats with a system thats way below the minimum specs too play EVE. ( and most nearly everything else ).
Just hope this gives you an idea of how EVE can be run very easily if you have the right drivers.

I've tried setting EvE to single CPU to no avail. I still get the exact same performance.
What erks me the most is that the game was beautiful before Revelations. It's something that was changed that's screwing up my system.

I hope ya work it out, I dont understand how some poeple with a good setup run EVE with no problems and people with the same or 'better setup' have so many problems with the same install.

Other things I've tried: 1) Re-installed Eve 2) Re-installed Video Drivers
And I still have the same problem.

maybe it's the redistD3DXonly that's causing this (in EVE/Bin) this is run the first time you start revelations.

That's interesting.
I ran the program manually and then started the game. For about 30 seconds the game ran smoothly, then the slideshow started up again.
Anyone know what "redistD3DXonly.exe" does exactly?
I've also now run DXDIAG and tested all of my DirectX 9c settings. Everything tested out perfectly good.
DAMN YOU CCP! Whatever you changed, put it back... Please.

this is what is posted in the known issues :
- Some players experience an FPS drop after jumping through a gate. We need more information on this issue please!
at least this one is actually my problem at the moment, so at least they know about it. already wrote a petition (graphical problems and stuff) with some more details, also regarding my machine and so on. now have to wait :(
as stated above they would like to get more information on this, but how to contact the right persons? the petition system if just to full for such things and bug report isnt needed anymore cause they already know. some chat or whatever would be cool, i would like to help solving this problem.

Before Revelations I use to get around 100-135 fps in space and 90-110 in combat with 4xAA 8xAF running:
Dual Core Opteron 165 OC'd to 2.6GHz Nvidia 7800 GTX 256MB OC'd 490/1330 2GB 3-4-3-8 Dual Channel RAM OC'd to 540MHz
AMD CPU driver installed and all the dual core gaming rig fixes tried. Uninstalled drivers and Eve cleaned registry and reinstalled both... I now get 15-45 fps now..........!!!!! WTF did they do to EVE it runs like sh*t now!!!!!

To everyone who have FPS problems: Are you using original drivers for your graphic card or tweaked drivers like Omega?

I'm running the latest bog standard ATI drivers, no overclocking or chicanery either ;-).

Maybe you guys could try the Omage drivers, the guy does drivers from the latest released from ATI and nvidia and they are very easy to install and uninstall...

Vincent,
I'm running the latest (released in August) approved QuadroFX drivers from nVidia. The vast majority of the work I do on my computer (video editing & 3D CAD) tend to have strict requirements for the drivers and I really don't want to mess with tweaked drivers just to possibly get a game to play.
Even though I'm beginning to believe that it is a video card driver vs. EvE issue.
------------
And I've continued messing with my system. SLI has no effect on my problem, though I have noticed that it does effect more than just EvE. When EvE is running any other program that uses 3D functions of the video cards has the same problem. Even if I regulate EvE to once monitor and one processor, the stuttering carries over to other 3D programs.
I've also checked with my sister who has a very similiar setup to mine and EvE runs perfect on hers. Main difference between hers and mine is that she running with "gaming" video cards and I'm running with "professional" video cards. A pair of GeForce 6600s vs. a pair of QuadroFX 1400s.
I may have to look into command line tweaks for EvE to turn of some video optimization they enabled in the Revelations build.

Id rather not use 1 year old drivers:

Sorry to tell you this, but the Omega Nvidia Drivers project is currently on hold ATM (NOT canceled), don't ask me why and please stop the emails asking for updates, I will resume the work on them when I find it appropriate, thanks for your understanding.
Directly from www.omegadrivers.net :)
Dropping 70-80 fps is just bull**** imo!!!

Sorry I thought the Omega dude was still doind nVidia driver packs. I'm an ATI user. By the way I have one small question: Yesterday I went to buy a new video card but they only had PCI Express cards, so my question is can I use the card on a regular PCI motherboard or I absolutly need a motherboard with a PCI Express slot?
