I was hopeing with this patch they would fix the tables for salvaging. What we currently get as loot from drone missions is what we should be getting for salvaging IMHO. The rig making components should be the extras that you have a chance to get but every wreck should have metal scraps, alloys, and compounds.
But enough about that. The player ships that I have salvage still give only one unit of metal scraps. Drones nothing, and it does not appear that anything else changed. Well, maybe someday.

Sadly, i won;t get salvage 5 until afterwards, to see if that helps. But 7 more days, and I'll see.

Hmm.
No changes, eh?
On the brighter side, I salvaged a NPC frigate yesterday in a belt and got TWO little bits o' salvage. I was under the impression that a NPC frigate only gave one...
Salvage lvl 4, by the way

Salvaging somehow "killed" mission running... It takes too long time and there is very little loot to be found. 1 mission brings like 1-2 units if you are lucky, and you need 73 units to be able to build a Rig ....
For a player with very limited EVE time this is not for me, might as well go back to boring old mining... Sorry EVE, but Kali/Revelations really killed EVE for me and my alt's IMO the old system worked better .... Off to check out Pirates of the Burning see & Warhammer Reckoning
PS: Nope, you can't have my stuff.... |

I have a problem with looted wrecks. Basically, the colour changes, that's nice, but it changes for one player only. This causes considerable problems when doing a mission in a gang. You can never be too sure which wreck has been looted and which hasn't.
Another thing... The amount of clicking required to loot stuff from wrecks is twice as high as before Revelations. Before you clicked to open the can, clicked to select all and dragged all stuff to your cargo. Then the can window would disappear along with the can itself. Now, however, the window stays, even when we remove all items from the wreck. Would be nice to have it close every time you move all items to cargo hold.
Also, it's really a pain in the a*s not to be able to salvage wrecks with loot in them. What if someone isn't interested in loot but only in components? For example, I may want to do a lvl 2 mission with lots of ships in it. But I'm not interested in all the crappy loot, I just want to get into a frigate equipped with salvagers and take all the components.
Forcing the player to remove loot first is kind of annoying and not really necessary...

It didn't kill it but certainly made it more laborous. I usually have 1 maybe 2 hours to run missions on an average weekday. Before the update killing stuff and collecting cans would take me, depending on mission type, 0.5 - 2 hours. Now, however, due to empty wrecks and salvaging it takes considerably longer. Too bad salvaging wasn't made in a different way. Like, depending on your skill level, you would either find a component in a wreck or not... And empty wrecks... please... no wreck should be empty, that's plain stupid. If there's a wreck there has to be something salvagable (I don't mean components here). And really, why does every piece of junk we blow up have to leave a wreck? That's just as stupid and very annoying.
Before, missions were a nice job, I could do up to four in a row before it became too boring. Now, after just one mission, I really feel like not doing any more. Ever...

Umm... Does it? I didn't really check that, sorry. If it does, then that particular problem can be considered solved. Although it still requires more clicking that seems necessary.

Eve is a *time sink* - they do not make money if you get everything you need in 5 minutes.
This is called business. CCP are you your friends, nor give a rats ass about you. They want your MONEY.
So, this is why it takes SO LONG to build one (1) rig.

Salvaging still needs a LOT of work. Way too many clicks for way too little reward. It just isn't any fun. Bring back cargo containers so we can ignore wrecks until salvaging is made worthwhile. Man. I can't believe the devs spent so much time to add content which only makes the game more aggravating.

Would love to have the loot jettison seperatly or maybe the wreck indicates if theres loot. --------

I like that idea!! Wasting several minuts on a wreck only to find nothing is too boring. Salvaging should NOT be based on chance like this. Connect it to the skill level, and then only leave a wreck if it has loot or something to salvage. As it is now, I feel I'm waisting too much online time.
... and for first time in years I have actually started to look for another MMO. Never thought I would consider giving up EVE |
