Hi. ;o
Is there a formula or something regarding lock time and lock range with sensor damps? I tried using the EW section on quickfit, but it seems kinda broken.
How does scan resolution effect lock time? I know large=faster. but If ship a has a scan res of, lets say 50, and Ship B has a scan res of, lets say 125, how long will it take ship A to lock ship B and vise versa? How does the stacking penalty work? I'll be using 4 t2 damps so what can I expect to get another BSs locking range down to? How long will it take a BS with 4 t2 damps on him to target another BS?
Thankyou :S

I have a file here on my computer that claims to have the formula for locking speed. I've never checked it, but here it is: Quote: The formula for calculating locking time is (10000/x) / (asinh(y)) where x is the scan resolution of your ship and y is the sig radius of the target asinh(z) is ln(z + sqrt( z ^ 2 + 1))
Don't ask me who it's from, I kinda forgot to include that.
Anyway, the formula indicates an inverse linear relationship between scan resolution and locking time, i.e. halving their scan resolution doubles their lock time.

Well if you put 4 t2 tamps on a BS without any boosters.. it doesn't really matter that his lock time goes up against you. The bigger problem for him, is his lock RANGE will be like 10KM. So you can sit at 15km and fight with no retaliation... much like the ECM modules that got nerfed... odd

Well what about close range ships? I want to know what kind of head start i'll get before the mega starts shooting. Quick fit says it'll take 1min, but that seems too much o.0

Well think about that.
Say it takes you 10sec to lock a BS in your BS.
It takes the other BS 10 secs to lock you.
So you warp on top of each other. Both start locking. 10 secs in, you both have a lock. They start shooting, you put on your damps. Ummmm :P You are already locked at this point, so the delay to lock part has NO effect. If you can start locking them, they can start locking you.
