I hate when i track by tractor beam some wreck and that wreck is emtpy. I tough salvaging is like mining, i mean work of one man, no for everyone. So i thing best is make this. When we shot some ship it will be 2 drops. One will be wreck like now and one will be cargo container(only if that ship have a drop). Players who dont wana salvage wrecks simply turn off wrecks from overview and they will gather only containers like before. And ppl who want salvage items...no change for them i think. Think about it. Thx Moria.

well to be blunt.. the replace from conts to wreaks is simply briliant. it's FAR more logical than having every single ship disentigrate and leave a container containing the modules the ship had fitted on it.. there is simply no way for one to unfit those guns while it's being blowed apart.. it should indeed be on the wreak. if you dont want to salvage them then dont.. they have added a mark can as looted option into the game by last patch too... it makes them grayed out a bit..

well, i know why they do that, and i understand, but this last patch dont helping me much cause still i dont know which wreck is empty and which isnt empty. That mean i must look into all wrecks. And if i want fight well i must this wrecks destroy by guns/rockets cause it is still in overview. If it is possible to have mission objective item in cargo container why we cant have normal drops there too? That is my question. And it dont hurt players like changing skill tree.

The problem is that an empty wreck looks like one with loot in it till you take a look. I'm thinking that instead of having the symbol change when you check a can, it should change depending on if there is loot in there.
If you think about it, any obtainable loot would be sitting where its visible from your ship as the attached modules on the ship would be near the outer hull, and the cargo hold would be an open section of the ship near the cargo hatch. So when your ship sees a wreck it takes a quick look at where the module mounting points and cargo hold were. Anything no visible there or from outside is probably too damaged to be useful.
A salvager however is looking for the small components of a ship that are harder to remove or see. Especially as they sound like they could be anywhere inside the ship if they came loose during the fight. -----------------

I think the recent change to tag which wrecks have been opened is a start, but its still very annoying and tedious trying to clear a battle scene of all the drops. The process can be made easier by cargo scanning the wrecks to see if there is any loot in them, but cargo scanning doesn't tag the wreck as being opened.
Yes wrecks are more realistic, but this is a game and more realistic at the expence of being tedious is not a good move.
Please please please tag wrecks as being opened when they have been cargo scanned!
Or even beter, as the previous post suggested, if a ship has loot, drop a wreck AND a cargo container. At least this way everyone is happy!

As I mentioned in a previous thread regarding wrecks. Add a checkbox option into the game options labeled "I dont want to salvage". If you have this checked wrecks then behave like jetcans, if the NPC drops no loot the wreck simply doesnt exist if the NPC drops loot the wreck stays until its emptied and then explodes. In a gang situation all members of the gang would have to have this option checked for the wrecks to behave this way.

Why not just change the wrecks icon to some how indicate it contains loot ?
For example have the little upside down triangle of the icon be filled in solid green or red if there is loot inside the wreck, and leave the triangle empty as it is now to indicate an empty wreck.
And since wrecks dont explode until you salvage them please add some kind of option to filter out empty wrecks. The ones without loot will never show up in overview and the ones you looted will then disappear from the overview.
Nice and simple, no options to be changed, and pilots not interested in salvaging won't have to check through dozens (sometimes hundreds in a large lv 4 mission) of empty wrecks.
Just my 2 cents.

How's this for an idea...
1. Every Wreck has some Composits like drop from drones, the qty and type are dependant on the original NPC ship.
2. Salvagers no longer "Auto transport" the salvage to your cargohold, they make them appear in with the loot.
2b. Salvage BEFORE you loot.
3. Once a Wreck is looted, it poofs.
I know the intent was to have people try out Salvaging as a career, go from place to place salvaging wrecks that others leave behind... well, with the system in place as it is now, with no REAL way to filter out the looted wrecks other that looking at Icons, players (Myself included) will just blow up the wrecks rather than look at them.
So Unless they PLAN to allow filtering of looted wrecks as SEPERATE entities from non-looted wrecks....

Reduce the number of wrecks and increase the quality or quantity of loot in each wreck. Not every ship needs to leave behind a wreck. I hate clicking though all the wrecks.
Oh and a cruiser sized looting ship would be nice. 8 highs with fat cargohold capable of looting all the junk from L4's and enough grid to fit an 10MWD.
