I was searching some stuff on Eve-DB and came across this:
Infested Battleship:
Rogue drones are hi-tech drones that have the ability to manufacture themselves. Rogue drone hives can be found throughout the universe of EVE and are a constant menace to space travelers. Threat level: Deadly
I always wanted a new type of enemy to fight. Kind of like technology run-amok. Anyone know when this content will come out?

For the terminally inquisitive-if a rogue drone encounters your ship, can they "take it over" and use it to create an infested ship of that type? So in theory you could end up with rogue drones taking over the galaxy?

Afaik, they are like NPC pirates.. but worse.. much worse.
Essentially your dead poo poo if you encounter a large number of these suckers ;p

Damnit...I wanted to hire Techell to build me a hundred Ravens...then let the drones take them all over...and watch them take over the galaxy...not fair...not fair... .
(at least I can save my isk for something else though)

As Ganja said, I don't think they'll assimilate your ship, too much coding id think. There were rogue drone hives in early beta, though they looked nothing like the new ones:) They were sinister, and no one had any sort of chance against it, even in a party. They had literally tons and tons of drones, ebil things. Only when Deathwing had gotten his illegitamate Armageddon and attacked the hive did anyone do any sort of damage to it:)

Shields off, cap drained, armour below 30%, a specific type of rogue drone can force a boarding (as with Derelict ships). You pop out of the ship in your pod and the ship comes under drone control. Surely can't be that hard?
(Yes, I'm going to argue this point to death  )

Damn nice pics, are those available as yet on Tranquility Server? Last time i searched (long search) and then asked the GMs I was told they were not currently ingame.
If they are in game now.. WOW! im off to have a search!.

They aren't from beta.. they are about 2 weeks old, drone hives are about 2 days old..

Thanks Ganja, your a star!.
Rogue drones have always been a pet fetish =) of mine. I was extremely disappointed when I found that they didnt make it into release etc.
But now they are back!!, do you know when they were put into Tranquility? I feel the urge to search, document and write a journal on Rogue drones.
Something about their borgishness that is so very cool.

They were on Tranquility, but because I put them there clientside.
They are not *ingame* for PC use/viewing/attacking/tobeattackedbyanddyby..
The Infested Dominix was actually given to me on Chaos for a project on EVE-DB.. as were alot of *other* ships :)
Sorry to bring your hopes up, but no.. they aren't ingame for you to use.. I was just a bad boy playing with game files to get the drone hive.. and no, I wont say how I did it unless I wanted to be fapped by Fuhry..

I remember the drones attacking my Navitas in beta <<Shudders at the thought>> They swarmed and attacked anything. But the picks here are nothing like in beta.
I wonder when they are comming in?

Well thanx for the pics, I hope to see them ingame for me to shoot at (im still mostly Minmatar so I wont be flying no rabid drone ship anytime soon).
As for them being on tranq already, Id hate for them to be implemented before they were ready and it gives me somthing to look forward to.

There are days I think the minmater ships are drones or drones nest. They look ugly and could be pieces of scraps.

Oh and btw I'm going to buy me a Rupture as soon as I have the needed ISK/Skills and nobody will stop me from doing that... not even you Ariell. But then again, I don't think that the Rupture is ugly.
The drones are a great thing thought, esspecially the infested spaceship screenshot "scared" me alot and would make a good atmosphere in abondonent Regions. Remembers me on a ghost ship.
