How would they show on your portrait if they are in your brain ?

They could make a second picture right below your avatar showing the inside of your brain!
And then we could have space mutant zombies! *BWAIIIIIINS*
Sweet! This should go into suggestions!

Maybe it's good, some of us would end up looking like Borg in the end :-)

I think the art's there, it's just not implemented. If memory serves, implants were sort of accidentally rushed out as agent rewards, so maybe we'll get the promised implant artwork in the next content patch.

Implants are dumb. I installed a willpower implant today and my skill time which uses willpower as primary didn't change one little iota..!

Abort your training and restart it again.....It will then amend your training time by the increases in your attributes

Edited by: Ajari Joan on 19/11/2003 12:11:56 Since your portrait is just a render, i guess there is no chance seeing real implants (outplants) on your skin. But if you decide to take a deties character instead, you can add such bionic/cyborg like looking templates of metall to your character. Its personal taste - thought... so personally I don't agree to see any implants on my character. ---

Your portrait is like your drivers license, once taken, it cant be changed.
It would be like me having a photo taken of me without "implants" and then having to re create a brand new photo/license all over again just for that.
Sounds nice but rarely/nevrer happens.. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Came back cause I love you guys :P |

I hope they implement something like this:
When the better implants come out upon fitting you get sent back to the portrait creation screen, where you are able to change your portrait - but nothing except minor expression changes and angle/orientation of the head, clothes and background/lighting. that way people can still have similar looks but with the implants in a way they are happy about.
They should probably give an option for ths after podding too via a popup - after all you lose your implants might want to mess around with the char portrait a little. A frown perhaps

There should be a choice here, crude implants with antennas sticking out of the forehead and good ones with no trace at all.

Thrak: yes when dying you should be able to dress your clone atleast? color your hair? Could be depending on the grade of clone aswell.. Would not be so hard for them to implement.. --

I bet most of the people who know you through eve would be pretty confused when seeing your new (unknown) portrait. Accidently they might also not even recognize you. The idea is okay thought, but this whole re-creating of your character can easly go overboard. I agree to Ariell that your portrait is like a photo from a drivers license, it gives you an identity for the game and a way to express your character to the others. If you change that, you might also change your ingame relations. -carry on ---

Neither installing an implant nor losing the implant (getting podded) will affect a skill being trained.
Aka, if you install an implant that boosts an attribute for the skill you're training, no change will take place.
If you get podded while training a skill that uses an attritbute boosted by implants, no change will take place.

So what are you saying, implants don't work or once a skill is set in training the time is fixed??

The skills-training part of the program won't recognise the change in your attributes at the time the change is made; it will only recognise it the *next* time you start training a skill.
The way to make it do so when you plug in an implant, is to immediately switch skills and switch back, then you'll see it having an effect.
Conversely, if Jash is right about the effect of losing them through being podkilled (he usually is ), then when that happens you should NOT switch skills until your current training is complete, because the time will still be based upon you having the implant that you just lost.

Would people really want to advertise to everyone exactly how much they could be ransomed for?
It's a really neat idea to have implants show up on your portrait, but suddenly people are going to be checking out portraits to see whos worth how much...

if they do the art work, not eveyrone wants to look like a some freak... they should make it an option or have you pay more to not show the implants
now different implants and looks would be cool... the cheapest implants would make you look like ****, and the good expensive implants make you look cool some how support Idea: QuickInfo an alternative to ShowInfo

hmmm, AFAIK when u click Generate Portrait it's being rendered [not downloaded!] from the ClientInside set of elements, each of this parts has a code attached to it and u r downloading only set of codes from EVE server. Those numbers gathered together create someone's portrait. As u can see that generated file is a non compressed BITMAP file!! I don't think that either of us can download a file of that quality [and size] in such short time. I assume that there won't be any problems with implementing the implants art, cos the process of downloading and/or creating a full size portaits is prepared for such issues.
So it will show up SOONÖ.

I'd prefer to have types that don't show as I've grown accustomed to the look of my character and prefer it the way it is.
