Not really, I've been playing for around 2 years now. Flying bs's for.. well, almost 2 years now lol. And up until a few weeks ago I had never came under sentry fire and wondered what damage they done. Although, I did know I could no doubt tank them in certain ships. But I was still weary of how well I could tank against them.. not coming under sentry fire and all. (Now one is a pro at it hehe)

the sentrys guns do equal amounts of kin/therm dmg and equal amounts of em/exp dmg but twice as much of kin/therm dmg
yes a armor tanked tempest w/ 1kin/1therm/1exp hardner and dual reps w/ a cap injector will tank them untill you run of cap, but remember somtimes things do shoot back and then it gets a little hairy.

I can easy tank sentries at gates in low sec 23/7 with a deimos with +80% resistance on all damage types with 1 armor repairer II and 2 cap recharger II's
But indeed not all sentries are the same... allthough iirc they all do the same DPS...
btw there is a very nice movie of a dread tanking concord
