Hey guys, just looking for an opinion here. I'm going to be building a system in the new year, and I'm looking into my display options. I've been reading about the matrox triplehead2go, and it seems quite enticing. But I've also been looking at the 24" widescreen dell monitor.
3 17" LCDs will give me lots of desktop real estate
1 24" LCD will give me a 1920x1200 native resolution which can double as a 1080p display.
What do you guys suggest

I can tell you this for sure. I have the Dell 24" Wide Screen 1920 x 1200. AWESOME. I give it 4 STARS. Only issue I had is the first one I got went out but dell replaced it.
I would opt for two 24" or a 24" and a 19"

It's time out for 17'' monitors - better take one 24'' and later upgrade for triple system. And - those new systems - not worth to buy - it's same old monitors on one stand - think you can order handyman to make same system later for you.

I'd have to go with the 24" too. Having handled several Dell 24":s recently, I'd go as far as to say they're one of the most LAN-friendly displays I've come across - quite many couple years older 19" tft's weight a lot more (and aren't as easy to carry). Getting 1080i/p capability is also a big plus IMO, no need to get another display just for highres movies in the near (or if you're lucky, now) future.
Another thing to note is that, last I checked, Matrox Triplehead2Go uses analog signal, which is bound to give inferior display quality.

Thats true, but matrox is going to bring out a DVI version.
They brought out an analog version first since the market is bigger there.
