Why is Jita the busy system in eve? Whats so special about Jita?
Ive never been there myself and dont realy want to after all the stories but im curious.

It's a trade hub, kinda like Rens and some other places very laggy however.

Market hub.
and i think never looked it up, it's within 1-2 jump of all 4 empires.
I could be wrong.

Also the snowball effect. Once a place turns out to be a bit more attractive than the places around, the traders come and put up more market orders, escrows etc., more buyers come, even more sellers place their stuff there and it takes only a few weeks and you have a crowded trade hub.
Some time ago the central point of the universe was Yulai, when the main travel-routes were the so called highways. You could get from empire to empire quite fast without going through low sec and Yulai was quite in the middle. In those days we had already 400+ players in Yulai, although the server population was a lot lower.
Then CCP removed those highway connections and within weeks Jita became the new main trade hub. Most players are Caldari anyway, so no wonder that in Caldari space. Yulai has been almost empty since then, too far off.

Hopefully with the new newbie skill system Jita's importance will diminish. Ask this: Were people choosing caldari for missile boats or because that was where you got the 300k sp character instead of the 30k sp character? Down south is in need of a new hub

People were choosing calderi because they havent seen a real nerf bat in 3 years. Yea, missiles used to hit harder no matter the size, and yes I used to have a cruise launcher on my kessie, but overall calderi havent been nerfed since beta.
