Sign me up as a director and I'll import a bunch of ore buy back infra that I have in this current corp.
New Eden isn't nice. It isn't friendly. It isn't very hospitiable. Good thing there are people here to shoot in the face.
Want to make New Eden a nice place? Try this out.

Don't go throwing directorship out to anyone. Especially someone dumb enough to boast about it beforehand. |

kes88 wrote:It's a lovely idea, but if you are looking for investment you need to have a plan and you need to provide more details. Most of GD react badly to this kind of thread (you are better off sticking to the right forum as well). There are lots of reasons for this, but some of it will be because you yourself have already confessed to not knowing much about starting a corp (but I may have misinterpreted what you said) and not having many assets or much isk.
If you really have a plan, have the confidence to say it plainly. People are much more likely to help you out if you can be more specific (I'm not talking about corp name here, I'm talking about corp goals).
Also, it sounds like you are going to need help with the actual running of the corp, not just the funding, if you are as unfamiliar with corporation organisation as it seems from your OP. You would do well to find individuals who can help you more fundamentally than just shoving isk at you. As always though, don't trust anyone....so pick your people well. And good luck with the wardecs and all.
He is looking for charity, not investment.
I support this endeavour. Best of luck sir. |

Actually no. Not at all really. Just support, which there seems to not be much. |

The issue is, and to be honest, is that your corp is nothing new or interesting. There's literally hundreds of corps just like it being created every day, each one with initially high ambitions. Truth is, it's just the same old **** with a new name. But everyone wants to play space CEO of their own little corp (Despite not being suited for it). Also, the point to starting a new player friendly corp is to already have the ISK to shower them with. Not asking for donations to start out in the first place.
Not to sound condescending in any way but it's the harsh reality of running a corp in EVE. It's not as simple as creating a guild in some generic MMORPG and getting a few people to join. However, if I hear about, or even encounter your corp in game and you put up a good fight or provide content, then I stand corrected, and might actually donate some shekels to your cause.

I am scratching my head trying to figure how an online message board can double up as a sexually transmitted disease. Also, what is the difference between absolute aids and not absolute aids? I had always thought aids was just the permanent thing. Is this like that episode of Curb where Larry talks about the "good" Hodgkins or whatever?

From your recruitment thread:
"I -áam starting a program at my school that is focused on video games and as a long time player of Eve I have picked it as the learning tool I am using since a lot of people are quite interested in it as well. I have around 100 new players I am bringing to the game and really need some help financing the content costs."
What school program is that? Learning tool for what exactly and in what form? How did you source 100 new players?

You clearly do not get any part of the post. I asked for people who weren't playing anymore to help if they wanted, not current players. The entire point of this corp is to help bring in new players while keeping the past experiences of older players alive.
I also guarantee no one has ever done a 100 person study on new players playing Eve. I have isk, that isn't the point. I wanted support and to pass on the legacy of older players if they wanted.
Typical internet thread though. People just commenting over and over again with out actually comprehending what is going on. It is fine though. I got a bunch of people from my old corp to help out so win/win. |

So let mw see if I got this straight.
You are starting a "newbro" corp to provide "trial by fire content specifically to new players. Tax rate is 5%. Your vested interest is in running a study for purposes of your school program (and btw you need to delcare to all participants of a studt openly that they are participating in one, and request consent). You claim to have sourced 100 players (which I hope is not 100 trial accounts made by yourself).
You do not have CEO experience, but also do not want in-corp participation from experienced CEOs or investors, but suggestions are welcom3.
In order to finance content for this corp, you are looking for biomassing/inactive players to donate their assets to you.
Is this all accurate so far?

That's because you're being so ******* cryptic with this whole thing. You refuse to reveal who your main is. Will you at least reveal who your old corp is? What makes your corp so special that it will attract a hundred new players? Like, what type of content do you plan on providing? etc
As for old players donating. No one is gonna donate their hard earned ISK to some unknown pubbie. Charity or not, people want some kind of reassurance when they donate. Not talking about investment, but they want proof that it will be put to good use etc.. A "promise" and "good intentions" means jack **** in a game where scamming and betrayal is allowed. You will have better luck begging in Jita local.
Also, I am (and I'm sure everyone else is too) curious as to exactly what type of study it is you're planning to do. You're being extremely vague in describing/selling your corp.

I feel like the kind of corp this guy would create are the reason a lot of new players leave Eve.
There was a lot of good advice given in this thread, yet the OP rants at people saying they didn't read or comprehend what he had written.
Well OP, you might want to go back and give it a re-read yourself.
Edit - took out 'probably', it made me sound wishy-washy |
