I'm curious to see exactly how large these alliances truly are!
I doubt anyone would do this but I would love to see all alliances have corps in their alliace remove all inactive players that havnt logged in for more then 2 months.
Im just curious on the true numbers that are active.
Don't care if they are alts just curious of how many have dead accounts just to make their alliance seem larger then they truly are..

We actually purge inactives pretty regularly. At least once every few months. Obviously though, I doubt anyone could give 100% concrete numbers, even if they wanted to. |

We purge inactives every couple of months.
Having big numbers doesn't help if you want to move or there is some other Alliance wide event but most characters are going to be left behind. It's also not good for recruiting if someone sees 1000 members in Alliance but when they join they find that there is only ever a couple of people on.
So we purge regularly and try to keep activity up so everyone is providing content for each other.
Doesn't always work, but we are generally happy with that approach.

UI for purging would be nice. Too many clicks per member currently. Would be nice to set a field to say 90 days, and click a single button to remove all members inactive for longer than that. Would be even nicer if there was a checkbox to do it automatically during every daily maintenance period.
I recommend everyone run over to CCP Punkturis's "We want your corp little things!" thread. |

Most active PvP corps purge inactive members (friends nonwithstanding ofcorse) from what I can see anyway, the Corp I came from though had heaps of them, something like 30 to 40%.

Dreddit had a purge, something like 1000/6000 were removed and they let loads in. How many log on for just skill queues?
Provi has some 15000 members. There are as much as 600 online including alts. We seldom fill a whole fleet and it is very rare to have almost two full fleets.

I know the last alliance I was in had tons of in-active players. I looked at the corp I was in and it showed 100+ members but 60+ havnt logged in for 6 months and longer.
I asked a couple corps in the alliance and some didn't want to tell me Lol but others said they had roughly 15 active but half were alts and the rest haven't logged on in over a year.. |

I have inactive characters in a few alliances. These are specialized for one purpose and haven't been needed of late.
The player behind them, me, still logs in most every day though.
I have to imagine I'm not the only one that does this. So a purge might end up booting some useful alts that are just not useful for the development cycle in effect at the time.
That said, I have no doubt that this being an MMO populated by real people with real lives (for the most part), that a solid 40% are inactive at any given time. Purely a guesstimate, of course, but based on plenty of years spent playing this game.

I recently had an alt in a WH alliance that was 120ish on paper, with about 10 actually active. |
