Ok, this one beats me really.
I got a deadspace signature within 0.1AU which should be just fine to scan out with Sift Probes but the analysis takes 600 seconds while the probe max flight time is 500 seconds...
Which pretty effectively kills the probe before the analysis results arrive. What am I missing here?

Signal Aquisition (Rank 8) -10% to scan time per level.
Some ships also have a -10% to scan time per level bonus.

Try using a cov ops frigate. They will halve your scan time

Even tech 1 frigates like the Minmatar Probe can help you out. With Minmatar Frigate skill at level 4 it completes a scan in 480 sec.

Yeah, figured... That's all I needed after finally figuring out how in general the spawns happen and how the whole scanning things work all by myself without any documentation and after finding something worth exploring. A 40 jump Empire Trip!!
Don't get me wrong, I'm not an usual whiner but there should be some level of documentation in this game. Especially when they release new features.

my scanner could not even see I had a sift probe in space, dissapered after 2 sec from my scanner, even if I could see the probe in space.
