In the sea of whine threads I thought I would post something positive about Revelations:
The Gila got boosted! (more badly needed CPU)
So anyone want to share setups?
Here is my lowly long range lvl3 Gila setup: (She's named "Gila Monster" btw)
Highs: -2 x 250 mm named Rails -4 x Named Heavy Launchers
Mids: -Medium shield ext II (WITH BUFF IT CAN FIT A LARGE EXT II! but I dont want the signature of a BS so ...) -Invulnerability Field -Named Afterburner -Named Target Painter
Lows: -Ballistics Control -3x Power Diags
Drone bay: 3 x Hobgoblin II
Not the best setup but it can handle easy and medium difficulty lvl3 missions.
Any suggestions for improvements will be appreciated.

I did all my Level 3s in a T2 fitted Caracal.
Tank was 3 large shield extenders II, 2x rat-specific hardeners, 1x SPR .
I could easily see you fitting a nasty tank with 2x LSEs IIs, 2x Hardeners, 2x SPR. Of course I have no idea if you can make that fit.

what did she get exactly as a buff? (too lazy to research)
this is one of my fav's and i have 2 or 3 floating around the galaxy.
I remember my particular setup (involved Lrg Shield Ext IIs) required me to find a shadow serp cpu or better to squeeze in. i think my cpu was dead full or had 1 point left.

LSE II is 20m, that's hardly going to make you BS-sized.
Stop being a wuss and fit an LSE II in there. ----------------

shield tanks and armor tanks are for the weak.
you should all hulltank. with just two mods you get armor class repping speed and almost 60% resists on all damage types!
Make ECCM viable! Give it 25% to scanning resolution! |

It got 30 more CPU. And yeah, the only way to do anything on it was to fit a faction co-proc... no longer :D ----------

Edited by: Helen of''Soy on 10/12/2006 00:02:59 The cpu boost added some nice new possibilities including this bad boy.
2 x Heavy Missile Launcher II -Precision Heavy Missile 4 x Heavy Electron Blaster II -Void M
Faint Epsilon Warp Prohibitor I 'Langour' Drive Disruptor I 10MN Afterburner II Invulnerability Field II Balmer Series Targeting Inhibitor I
4x Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
3x Hobgoblin II 406 m/s 400 DPS
The Bad: *It's not gonna be tanking a lot of damage. *This fitting needs that sp.
The Good: *This thing rips apart anything smaller than itself. *You can seriously **** off turret users by reducing their range and tracking to 1/4th of their original. (pvp obviously)

This is a bad setup. Period.

What can I say? You have a wasted damage mod in lows (stacking penalty anybody?). You have 2 weapons systems. You are using a single tracking disruptor that will have little to no effect on 'ships smaller than itself'. And you've put an expensive t2 invul field mod on there for no particular reason. Oh, and you have an afterburner instead of a mwd.
Have you even tried this out?

HAM's on the Gila, it's the only other ship that has decent range on it beside the Cerberus.
Otherwise the setups are pretty standard, except you'll need some speed on the Gila if you want to catch cruisers that orbit just out of range.

Edited by: Triksterism on 08/10/2007 20:40:32 After a minute or so of modding my Moa setup to fit a Gila, i've come up with the following setup:
[HI] 4x HAMs w/ Terror 2x Dual 150mm Rail IIs w/ Iridium/Spike/Javelin
[MID] 10MN ABII Tracking Disrupter II 2x Large F-S9 Shield Extenders
[LOW] Damage Control II 3x Best Named BCUs
3x Hobgoblin Drones -----------------------
This is a tight fit, which is why the BCUs are best named and not t2. Various modules can be swapped with best named counterparts for easier fitting.
EVE Fitting Tool gives an estimated 272 DPS (with reloading included). It all fits for me with good skills --> http://ineve.net/skills/character.php?charID=Mzk2MTg5NzM1
