Fix the Griefing System

Let's be honest, the system is supposed to make the pirates and the griefers have to jump through extra hoops to be devious and unlawful and despised. Griefers should have to work a little to get their satisfaction. The griefers have to endure some grief, so to speak. If you want to grief someone, you're gonna have to work for it. Particularly in high-sec. Fortunately, the thing is an easy fix. Someone earlier suggested "hacking" deadspace gates. Here's how it works: You talk to your sexah agent person. They like you, so they give you the key to their, ahem, room. You go in said room, and do your business. Mission completed, hooray for iskies. A griefer wants to crash the party. He needs to pick the lock to get in. Sucess check (based on some extra skill because we know that everyone loooooves those): If he succeeds, he gains entry. However, by hacking the gate, he has commited an aggressable act, and may face action from the mission runner. Hell, make it an agression against the corporation too, that'd be interesting! TANGENT!! How about people who are members of the missions' corporation can attack the griefer? They are trying to protect their corp's assets, and are allowed to use violence as necessary. I can just imagine people joining Brutor Tribe and Caldari Navy just so that they can hunt down mission griefers! That'd be fabulous! ... but i digress. Back to that evil pirate/greifer man. Now he's warping into the deadspace. The missionrunner, the ever-watchful and observant person they are; sees a hacking warning/agression timer and they know that they are being attacked. They can warp out, quick race to that important can, or fight! Whatever they want to do. The fact of the matter is, EVE is just as much about the player having options in any given situation as it is about those holy words: "non-consentual PVP". Right now, I don't have enough options when high-sec griefed. Give me options. Allow griefers to grief, but allow me to fight, too. Mmkay?

That'd be fabulous! this i can vaugley agree with along the proviso that 1) player corp only - this will encourage them to leave npc corps and intereact with others 2) upon intitatin hostilities the people invovled become flaged to the pvpers gang. this would encourage more combat over recources. RAM is recruiting

I've been playing EVE for a while, after I saw it advertised over at PA. Overall, having a good time, and just started reading the forums. Just felt like posting (what I hope people consider valid) my opinion. Never thought of myself as particularly stupid, so I may as well talk with other people who play.

You are insulting and making stupid generalisations. I am a PvP'er and I much prefer shooting other PvP'ers to shooting miners or mission runners or defenceless haulers. They are the ham in CCP's $ sandwich. Don't talk about intelligence and then go and spell PROVE with two O's and don't assume I don't have 3 other characters who have spent years in player corps. I have. I'm a veteran from beta.

(why has merchie not been banded for that yet) It seems like a pretty good idea with a reasonible logic and good use of ingame mechanics. The mission runner can still be griefed in high sec. Would say PvP but that is not what is being done in highsec, just greifing right now. But has the option of fighting or running. Making it only take 3 minutes and a click is a huge change.
