I was about to dock the other night and stopped to watch a fight involving a dread. The dread was destroyed outside the station and I thought, nice I'll try and salvage it. I waited for the victors to loot it then immediately went over and started my salvagers on it. It took what seemed like about 5 minutes with 3 salvagers and salvage lvl 4. When it was done all I got was 1 Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and that was it, how depressing, would of expected more from a dread. Not sure what the ANN does but it's not damaged like other salvaged loot. |

If it's not "damaged" and it has a blue background, it is a tech2 salvage material. ----- Griffin -- 100,000 ISK ECM - Multispectral Jammer Is -- 20,000 ISK Standar Missile Launcher Is -- 10,000 ISK War target sobbing over losing a fight in his T2 fitted Battleship -- priceless |

Features are introduced pre-nerfed so that any vulnerabilities or exploitative behaviour involving those features can be identified before everyone in the game is using them

A couple of ships and scanning aren't game-breaking features, as other game mechanics allow you to protect yourself against both.
A single module that acts as an "I-Win" button in every engagement is, and this is what CCP needs to protect against. By limiting the availability of rigging components only the most sought-after rigs will be built. When you consider that a significant portion of 100k people are all considering how best to fit their ship, if a game-breaking rig does exist they will find it and that rig will dominate market sales, alerting CCP to the problem.

Yeesh, i'd have thought t2 fitted Dreadnaughts should really drop doezens if not hundreds of rig components, its not as if they die at the same rate Battleships and lower die.

BCs got nerfed...
Well, ok so the Myrmidon didn,t but the Drake did, and we all know the Drake having ROF and resists was insane, and a 900+ DPS myrmidon isn't.

The ANN is an T2 rig part. Keep it, within a month or 2, someone will pay big ISK for it. I all ready have been offered 50mil a piece for my T2 rig parts.

FYI..
You have just as much chance to get a pice of scrap metal from a frig as you do from a dread. (if you get anything at all)
I still need to do more testing but, it looks like each ship type salvages to nothing 60/40 chance, or salvages to 1 class specific item or 4 generic items (scrap metal, etc..) after salavaging 1000 ships of the same class 500 BS/500 frigs if you successfully salvaged an item you had a 65%-70% chance on getting the class specific item.
out of the first 500 BS test (amarr) I ended up with 147 fused boards, 41 scrap metal, 48 burned boards, 32 fused wiring, 28 melted circuits. The 500 punisher test was almost identical in numbers but the class item was a overheated relay 151 of them, the rest was the generic stuff.
I also salvaged a two dreads,,, scrap metal and nothing. Just to cover all my bases I salvaged a few starter ships.. scrap metal 100% of time.
