Who came in second place?
Given that the match is tommorow, Morsus Mihi and Nebula Rasa would be greatly helped if they were not kept in suspense too long.
Figured it would help so both sides had an official place to look in case of poor communication.
Thank you.

Can't rly be that hard to count?
Going by Smagd's commentary:
MM vs fimbul: 28-15 MM vs SE: 0-28
Nebula vs SE: 1-28 Nebula vs LV: 28-3 (nebula didn't lose any ship but fielded uncomplete setup)
How did the other matches go? Am I forced to have any regret? I've become the lie, beautiful and free In my righteous own mind I adore and preach the insanity you gave to me |

As much as keeping you in suspense amuses me here goes;
2006.12.09 22:07 I'm afraid MM beat you by 7 points. -------------------- 2006.12.09 22:06 I did not watch the end of the broadcast today and only have hearsay and the official standings to go by. Are we through or are we out on points?
That's a letter from a dev and me posting it, do I get a diploma and immunity?

The issue is that both sides thought they counted right and that MM had lost, but the devs stated otherwise.
Was just trying to get an official response so the advancing team could go buy things in prep while we argue about it.
Anyway, other matches for MM were:
MMvNR 28-0 MMvLV 7-28

Wait a minute, seeing how they won just barely against Fimbulwinter I'd like to know exactly what the count was.
We have 28+28+1 for a total of 57 points with 28+28+3 against bringing us to a negative 2
Whereas Morsus Mihi got 28+28 for a total of 56 points with 28+28+15 against, might have a redeeming ship saved to add to that but that not taken into account the Fimbulwinter saves would bring them to a negative 15, 13 points below us.
Who did the count here and what am I missing?

MM vs fimbul: 28-15 MM vs SE: 0-28 MM vs NR: 28-0 MM vs LV: 7-28 63-71 = -8
Nebula vs SE: 1-28 Nebula vs LV: 28-3 (nebula didn't lose any ship but fielded uncomplete setup) Nebula vs MM: 0-28 Nevula vs fimbul: 28-0? 57-59 = -2
Should be nebula going through if those match reports are correct :s

MM managed to save their two vigils in the LV match. Think the other MM matches are correct.

Yeah... would be nice if someone could summon LeMonde so he could show us his mats leading to MM winning by 7 points.

No, its not. LeMonde offered an equitable solution to the TRS lag problem. Perhaps he might do the same thing here.
No issue with NR here, just kind of frustrating that there is so much back and forth when we could have been done with this 6 hours ago.

if you field less than 28 points the enemy automaticly get the missing points as killpoints. Else we (morsus mihi) could have advanced to next round by only fielding 24 points in our latest match. That would not have been fair to the Nebula Rasa.
I just put up a token bounty on lemonde for making this evening a pain
Good luck to Nebula Rasa , prove that we lost the spot to a good team.

In the end it means that the LV diving in the last match (and not even bringing 28 points) is the decisive factor. Of course, we should have blown up enough points for it not to matter.

Well, our (TRS) match vs MC was completely lagged out - we would have won otherwise, see this thread.
LeMonde offered us a re-match if MC would agree on that. They did not, for RL reasons - their members simply weren't available (already behind schedule). I don't blame them. At all.
The re-match would also have been with no ships replaced. Parts of our team can't undock with the sec-hits taken in the tourney. It was pretty much impossible for us to sort new ships and mods in time.
Also, I expected Burn Eden to wipe Xelas 28-0. And then it didn't matter. The Burn Eden guys smack alot - but they're not stupid. I'm sure they would have realized that Shin Ra's figures from yesterday were wrong. In our match against them we fielded a standard raven, not faction, and hence only 27 points. So our match was "only" a 28-1, not 28-0, win against them by the stated rules. Which means the actual situation was such that we had to beat MC with 2 points more than Burn Eden would beat Xelas. Burn Eden winning 28-0 means we were out already, re-match or not. Am I forced to have any regret? Your situation and ours are not the same obviously. I just meant that maybe LeMonde could do something for stringing the whole alliance along for 7 hours going back and forth and back and forth. The fact that he offered a rematch to you was just an indication that he was thinking about fairness overall, not that he would offer the same thing.
Anyway leaves a frustrated feeling, must be worse for the people on the teams who were waiting the whole time only to get a decision then for it to change.

We may have rolled a natural 20, but then we blew our save. I hate it when the dice fall on the floor and nobody but the DM see's the result.
People may be a bit disheartened on the MM side of things right now, but I know the mistake in calculation and following announcement was not intentional.
I do feel that to avoid these problems in the future that I should be flown to Iceland for the next tournament to oversee these things.
