Now that revelations has been released.
I am not particularly interested in how they stack up 1v1 in pvp. I am just interested in their overall strengths and weaknesses and I am particularly interested in the T1 cruisers and the Typhoon BS.
My impressions from what I have read is that they are very skill intensive because of their slot lay out. Has this changed at all?
Any opinions and/or comments are very welcome.

You really need to use minmatar ships to understand its not the skill investment to just simply get into a t1 minny cruiser but how to fly it.

Go ratting in a Rifter when you can to get an idea of what they are about. A rifter is cheap but really fun.

Minmatar is the race of many faces,they use missiles,drones, turrets,shield tank,armor tank,EW(not much anymore besides recons)have good alpha strike with howitzers and fast rof with ACs....And have speed.
See why its difficult to fly minmatar ships?All of the above skills need to be trained.

I am for the most part stuck to the minmatar ships except for getting gallente BS for a mach.
when i first started i was in a gallente corp and i was getting annoyed at the fact that they where one shot popping frigs, rouge drones, ect with blasters when i was having a hard time killing them before reloading with ac or hitting them with artys. or even better when i got my first scythe and couldn'y do anything mission wise with it .
now that i am a year old and have about 20 mil sp, i am glad i am a minmatar. there are some down sides just like any other race, minmarat take longer to train since you dont "have" to armor tank or "have" to use missles or drones. so there is no sure setup to have to counter a minnie ship

There's the versatility, which means you will not be like a raven pilot, pwning the cr4p out of sh!t with only a couple million sp. You will need to put in some serious time before the rusty pipe starts to shine.
But when it does...  I gots me a couple million points in gunnery, mechanics, engineering, missiles and drones, and that rusty pipe is now teh rustah pipe of DOOM well.. not really, but its good, believe you me.
So, once you fly your minnie boat well, you can fly anything. Minmatar is EvE on hardcore mode. You get braggin rights. You get to fly punk ships and go OI! at your victims. You will be truly l33t.
So there you have it. Minmatar FTW!
However, I still think EvE needs more and better tactical warning sounds.

You didnt train learning skills I guess. And 20 mill per year is with a maxed out perc/willpower char with +4/+5 implants I think. Ive gotten 14 mill sp in 10 months and I have the attributes pretty even, and only have advanced learning at 3. Its good enough.
Anyway, minmatar is a tricky race. Its the least played race in the game. Their ships constantly die and nobody respects them. But a skilled minnie player can sometimes win where he shouldnt, in theory.
Check out these videos and look at how minmatar is supposed to be played. I love those videos with all my heart to be honest. They give me the inspiration I need to continue with matar even in rough times. I dont mean the gate camping vid, I mean the minmatards 1 and 2 videos he links to in the post.
