There is evidently a new version of Stop the Thief that was released with Revelations. Your opponents are Angel Mercenaries. The description does not tell you who your opponents are. After discovering it was Angel Cartel, I warped out before engaging and fitted my tank.
After you kill the first battleship, a second wave jumps in. This second wave is instagank. They burned through my Tech2-hardened Raven's shields in around 20 seconds, with the XL Overload booster running. There is no way, no how that anyone could have survived that. It would have taken 2 battleships devoted solely to shield transfer in order to survive. My character has over 13 million skillpoints, with a huge amount devoted to survivability, and even then there was no way. The only hope would have been to be prealigned. There is clearly something wrong with this mission. I don't know whether it's one of the enemies does 10 times the damage he's supposed to or what, but it needs to be fixed.

Remove the small ships first.
The area is not deadspace so you can use mwd and warp to bookmarks (and buildings all over the place).
Once you know what you can do and what you better do not, the mission is kinda easy. --*=*=*--
The cause for this is not yet known, but we do have a possible fix in testing. by Sharkbait | 2006.09.20 |

You go very short range? I have done that with a Raven with all T1 tech and 450.000 SP in missiles and a "almost useless" Dominix (the hybrid do crap damage on Angels and the range is too great for drones). I had done the level 3 before and did know the multiple wave thing, so I engaged from long range (you can easily warp in and out between 70-100 Km of the starting point) . Had to warp a good number of times as the enemy missiles do a good level of damage, but nothing impossible. The domi dispacted most of the small stuff coming near and the raven killed the big guys.

I wasn't at very short range. I was at the warp-in point. And this one IS deadspace. I was NOT warp scrambled, however. This mission is screwed up, and it needs to be fixed. In order to wind up in a situation where they're outrunning your shield booster and still kill your shields in 20 seconds, you should have to REALLY screw up. I've seen situations where you just get scrambled and killed. That's one thing. But where they utterly burn through everything you've got in the blink of an eye, that's not within the sane limits of gameplay.
