Edited by: Sairait on 11/12/2006 11:34:34 They say that fortune favours the prepared ones ...
And it's absolutely true. Our team has spent last month and half with thinking up tactics, tweaking setups, getting ISKs to buy the best equipment and implants available, studying our opponents and picking up the best pilots for specific roles. I would like to thank to everyone who got involved and supported us, both materially, morally and with advices and tips. We couldn't achieve so much without you guys.
Still - we had to learn and improve our tactics throughout the whole tournament. Most of us watched all fights, studied the errors made by other teams so we could avoid such mistakes, and we also adopted couple of smart tactics introduced by someone else (examples being simultaneous usage of sensor boosters and dampeners on one ship, or expensive Navy Hookbils as excellent 1 point armor tank / dampen platforms). We have been trying to guess the setups/tactics our enemies will field and with two exceptions - we always had the right counter-tactic.
The last day was a blast. I was more than satisfied when we got through first two matches of Final 16, and didn't want more. We've been expecting IAC in the semi-final match, and had a strategy similar to Cult of War ready against the Impoc of Doom. We wanted to take it down or die with honor, and CoW has robbed us of that fight and fame. Kudos and much respect to CoW, you've won the tournament by this unique feat and been a great sport in your last match.
And then the fight against the BoB ... What can I say :). We _had_ a perfect counter-tactic to their NOS team with pilots and ships ready, yet we never used it. I could blame it on Lemonde for giving us only about 15 minutes between the semifinal and final matches or being a midnight at where I live, but the fact is, that it's just my fault - for not being properly prepared for this one ahead. My apologies go to our 'Behemoths tactic' team - Falconetta (passive shield tanked CNR pilot), Manc (passive tanked Nighthawk pilot) and Shivaja (passive tanked Cerb) for denying you the last fight and opportunity to give the BoB a proper battle for the title. I guess my brain was already half-dead at that moment, and the only thing I could come up with was - screw it, let's go in guns blazing and kill the Bhaalgorn at least.
Sorry BoB, you're getting your fight next time, cause we will be back for more. I'm also quite certain that we keep THE ship, and we will use it in the next tournament (although this is not just my call).
Last but not least - BIG thanks to CCP for creating this brilliant game, it has taught me a lot about leadership, trust, dedication, sincerity and many other virtues. Your approach to what you do is inspiring, and the way you do it is the main reason why we all love the EvE so much. My thanks go also to EvE TV team, you're getting better every time there is an event like this, and it was pleasure to watch both the fights and commentary in studio.
For me personally, this tournament was a proof of that a man can accomplish anything that he really wants, and a great encouragement for anything that I will do in future.

Congratulations to the R0NIN team that stood up and were counted, you were one of the reasons I found the entire tournament so riveting.
You came, stood up, were counted and went all the way to the final. For that I give you my respect.
/me tips his hat.
You take what is offered. And that must sometimes be enough. |

We're so proud of the team, mucho ♥ for the R0NIN lads
And yes, thanks also to CCP and the eveTV team for making the game and the event such an entertaining spectacle. I think I'll also thank you on behalf of all of our targets, because they've been having an easy time of it while we were all sat in station watching matches
I'm glad Sairait got his chance to shine as, well, maybe the second best tactician in the game , and I think our boys put up such a good show.
Well done to all of the alliances that took part, thanks for giving me something decent to watch.
Can't wait 'til next time

Although BoB are the Tourney winners, calling R0NIN's outstanding show and well-earned 2nd place the "losers" of the fight just doesn't seem to do them justice.
R0NIN have proved not only to be a great team, but also good people. Respect.

I was proud to be part of our team. Last 2 weeks refreshed my memories from EVE beginning and amount of adrenalin was much bigger then RL/EVE situations.
Thank you to CCP, thank you to my team members and our brave opponents.
See you in space.

Hats off to you guys. We've been fighting you in Syndicate for months, and I knew you were good PVPers, just didn't know you were that good. Well done. See you on the field.
