The Public EYE a periodic publication by Cometqueen
This edition of The Public EYE will focus on the hopes of immigration into the Federation and one particular Pod Pilot who is seeking to claim a piece of that dream the Federation sells. Whether you are a supporter of Democracy or an opponent of mob rule, the search for betterment is mirrored in every human in the Cluster. Some seek it through God, others hope the temporal world will lift their hearts.
The human heart I write about today is a Caldari one, owned by Yarod Cool.
The Caldari are a people given to efficiency and purpose. In that throng of production the individual is often lost, so what happens when one such worker ant seeks to be more than the sum of his parts? Well this worker ant packed up and moved out of the colony to the luscious lights of the Crystal Boulevard.
It has been a year and a half now since love and democracy found Yarod Cool. He met the woman of his life, Geminiluna, and has successfully led Team Javelin, a Light industry, security, and miscellaneous contract corporation. Further he has been toiling for the FederationĘs cause as a member in good standing with the Cyrene Initiative.
Having proven his dedication I decided to look into his case. I asked him about his hopes for Citizenship and any response he might have received from the Immigration Board.
Ever the hopeful Yarod Cool replied:
Unfortunately there's going to be a waiting period. It might be a year or two before I get citizenship. I'm married to a native-born Federation citizen, and I have some high-profile references.
But the Fed Administration has a lot of ties to the Senate, and I'm really not a Blaque supporter. Also, I'm Caldari, and the bureaucrats aren't going to give me any special treatment.
I'm trying to get some contacts who can intervene directly with President Foiritan. I've heard that he could use his executive powers to grant me citizenship. But for the time being, I just have to wait. -Y
Such dedication to an idea, flawed or not, is commendable. Commendable enough that I have decided to help, Kingdom citizen though I am.
So I ask Federation Citizens who appreciate their daily freedoms and rights to speak up for this man. This dedicated Caldari who seeks to bridge that mighty gulf made so long ago. This man, this patriot to his beliefs disserves your support. Write your Senator, your President. Get the word out, not so much for Yarod Cool but for the hundreds of other immigrants looking for that which the Federation provides. Remember that power is always in the hands of the people, given by God.
More to come.

While I understand the need for scrutiny over all immigration applicants, this man surely deserves citizenship.
In my time in the Cyrene Initiative I met many courageous and noteworthy pilots, and Yarod Cool definitely stands prominently among them. Time and again he and his associates have fought for the betterment of the Federation.
It is an outrage that they be denied their citizenship. I call on Senator Blaque and President Foiritain to take action on Yarod Cool's behalf. To any Senators or bureaucrats who have hindered this man's citizenship behind the scenes, I can only say to you that you are no friend to the Federation or myself.

While I concider Yarod a personal friend, and eagerly await the day he gets his citizenship, making exceptions for specific people will only open a can of worms.
The dedication Yarod has shown despite setbacks makes me confident he also understands this. ---

Your devotion to the rule of principle and law is admirable, but the exceptions are already being made and the rules are already being bent - in the unjust direction.
Not just in Yarod's case, but his case makes an ideal cause cTlFbre because of the status we pilots enjoy downside. If the Federal Administration bureaucracy are frustrating the application of a loyalist with Yarod's visibility merely because of his ancestry, then they are acting against everything we are meant to stand for, and need to be guided back onto the proper path.
The publicity that a widespread petition on Yarod's behalf is likely to generate may well lead to a streamlining of the immigration process in general, once Senators afraid for their re-election prospects see which way the wind is blowing. I fully support any efforts the community may make in that direction, and join in the call upon the Senate to revisit the operations of the Immigration Board.

A reform of the procedures as a whole may very well be in order, however bending the rules for any one single person, capsuleer or not, no matter if in just or unjust direction will never be the way to go.

This is great, I'm sure that Gallente space would be a great home for the lazy riff-raff that can't cut it in Caldari space. ------------------------------------

We do, and that will be the decisive part. You and the terrorist group you follow, better start worrying about your future.

No one said anything about declaring war. I only stated that you should start worrying about your future, hun . Now go back to your master and lick his feet dog.
PS: i don't use lasers mining or otherwise. And when i turn my guns against you, we will see who will laugh at the end scum. EDIT: Anyway this thread is about Yarod, a most honorable pilot. A man i consider an honor to fly in the same alliance, and an honor to consider him an ally and a person i know. I hope and wish that the citizenship matter will be resolved sooner than anticipated. Bureaucracy is a burden of a large state, and it's the citizens duty to try and minimize it.
No matter what i know that deep in his heart has kept the best of both races and that is what makes him so special. His citizenship is nothing but a minor detail.

Out of respect for my publication I request that Intaki Union and their opponents not turn this thread about Federation Citizenry into another debate on their opposed ideologies.
You both preset valid arguments from your own perspectives, but this is not the place for it. Please feel free to start your own thread.
I would like to hear about Yarod Cool, and any response the Federation itself might make.

I would like to express my regret for the momentarily hijack of the thread Ms CometQueen. As i have stated in my previous broadcast though, it's true that bureaucracy is a burden on the citizens (and want to be citizens) of the Gallente Federation.
And acquiring the citizenship by any person that wishes to live within the Federation, and possibly participate in the political life of it, is a only the de jure part. The de facto citizenship comes from the acceptance of this immigrant within the society he/she chooses to live. And that is what counts in my humble opinion. Not the official recognition of his/her citizenship.
For mr Yarod specifically i have expressed publicly my honor for knowing him and his wife. And that is something that many people will tell you.

i have to agree with the Gallente there, Yarod Cool is of sound mind and honorable caliber.
of course I'm not a Gallente Citizen, never will be and never want to be. But a man has the right to at least receive word on what might be his due if he works for it.
I think IĘll pass on writing to the President or a Senator though, this IGS is monitored by the Federation as much as by the Empire, the Republic and the State. Others of those factions have responded it isn't impossible to assume that perhaps this is being seen by the right people.
Give the man his due, or at least acknowledge that his request is being reviewed. People like him are the reason that the current guy won anyway.
If you are denied Yarod, I suggest you consider alternative employment opportunities. I got a few people could use a smacking like the kind you dish out.

After having worked with Yarod for a while now I think I can safely say the Federation could do itself a great service by granting this gentleman his official citizenship.
He has routinely engaged in selfless acts of heroism and is a fine example of what any civilized capsule pilot should be, a gentleman and freethinking individual.
I would go so far as to say Yarod Cool has already exceeded many times over any requirements the Federation could put forth and that in the eyes of all his friends inside Cyrene his citizenship became an irrelevant point long ago.
