I have been experiancing the famous cap bug for a month now and can not figure out how to fix it. I have read the post but nothing so far. Any help on this would be great. I end up with my cap out of juice and it shows like %80 full??

Got your system time in sync? Some variants of it were produced by time issues.

This bug being related to the system time is so ridiculous. Not that I don't believe it, I'm sure it's true.. but wth did the programmers think?

I lost my first Battleship to this bug as well. Go into your BIOS and there is some energy saver type setting that lets you choose from 0, 0.5, or 1.0. Whatever, it is set at now, choose one of the other options. Then try Eve and see if it works. Run your cap to where you get the "the capacitor is empty" message. If your cap is still partly full, then go back into your BIOS and try the third setting.
Good luck

Are you serious?
How can something such as the capacitor display have any relation to Energy saving options in the BIOS? If that's true, its pure, unadulterated madness! -----

Some functions in EVE (used to?) use the system clock. Other functions use the windows clock.
Cap levels are tracked on the server and on the client to fight off some nasty lag and connection related problems. If the tracking on the client side is done on one clock and the display on the other, you can run into the old style cap bug. --*=*=*--
The cause for this is not yet known, but we do have a possible fix in testing. by Sharkbait | 2006.09.20 |

Its stuff like this that makes you realize that bug hunting can be a real problem. --- Eve Wiki | Eve Tribune | Eve Pirate |

Edited by: Lebouse on 13/12/2006 04:29:41 I had the same problem AND I had the multiple approaches, backward warping after getting to gates, gauges not working...you name it.
Do this it works:
Linkage
After I had the problems intermittently, it turned out that if I left my router on for too long it would get hot and cause similiar problems. So now I shut it off at night, havent had an issue since doing these things.
