Pod pilots can die. They can be biomassed.
All the other heirs of Jamyl's time were pod pilots, and they all died permanently. They had their burn scanners turned off because amarr heirs are not allowed to clone.
It is likely that Jamyl's pod also had the scanner turned off this time around, at Safizon.

I think the Lore is something around, she had capsuleer conversion, but it was heretical to have clones installed, so she somehow became a capsuleer without dying (rumours that she may have and then used clone technology anyway, against Amarrian beliefs) and had no clones installed.
So she had the ability to fly a ship like us, but not have her consciousness transferred on death.
I'm no lore expert though, so it's likely someone will correct me on this.

Technically, she could have her conscious transferred. She just has no official clone body to transfer into. This is not to say she may not have an illegal clone somewhere as well. The more important questions are...
Would amarrian society accept a 2nd miraculous rebirth?
Did the other survive and did it have a place in which to transfer?
Are there replacements for the supposed special implants installed in the emperess as suggested in the Dust novel?
Does it really matter because face it, the important war is about dethroning the cursed blues and ensuring the right to make pot noodles in the sacred teapot for all?
And are narwhals really that cool?
Is being called mate really grounds for war?

I heard CCP had something to do with all of this. Maybe even instigated the whole thing. The wildest rumor I heard sofar is them being responsible for the appearance of Drifters. So I doubt they will ever acknowledge Jamyl surviving. I would hurt their rep. |

The other part is we don't know how the doomsday works. They could simply overload systems causing explosions. A hundred doomsdays to the main power system of a titan might make it go boom... |

Just pointing out, if a Capsuleer's clones are all destroyed and the clone they are using also gets destroyed they will die. With no clones there is no avoiding death.
This is pointed out in the book TheEmpyrean Age by Tony Gonzales.
So if she had no more clones or the drifters were able to jam out her clone jumping technology it's very possible for her to be dead. |

73% of EVE characters stay in high security space. 62% of EVE subscribers barely PvP. 40% of all new accounts just "level up their Ravens". Probably that's why PvE content in EVE Online is sub-par and CCP is head over heels for PvP...
