So I went to check the dev blogs today and I read about the free implant. Apparently the window has passed on it but I can't understand why they need to have the window so small? I was even logged in during those dates and simply didn't know about the redeem system. Is there some reason the redeem can't be turned on permanently as soon as your account goes active due to plex/subscription?

this is main idea of those gifts: get you online.
And other: it is simplier to make 1 redeem button for 1 gift than make several buttons. Because without time limits we will have people who collects those gifts for years. |

This isn't really a question for the players to answer, but speaking as someone who bought quite a few CA-1s I'd like to extend my personal thanks for your help in making my investment that little bit more valuable.
Malcanis' Law: Any proposal justified on the basis that "it will benefit new players" is invariably to the greater advantage of older, richer players.

I was online several times during the time window though. There wasn't even an email/popup telling me that I could redeem this and the redeem button isn't exactly somewhere you'll ever notice it. |

I just click on my character and log in. As far as I knew there was no reason to even look at that screen. Even if I did know I'm fairly certain I'd never see that button. |

I don't care about the implant as much as I think the actual way it was represented should change in the future. There's no reason to not at least send out in game mails. Or have a popup or something. |

You had an advertisement before you logged in, you had it mentioned in a dev blog (twice?), it was discussed on the forums and thus far in the last 4 years while I was here we always had a gift of some sorts around this time of year.
You missing the boat is your own doing, me thinks.

Ps: there will be a second implant at some time, so keep reading those dev blogs.
