And i though that a good video had to have challenging fights that are exciting to watch. That was what i was criticized for not having in my 'Rebirth 4' and 'Clash of the Empires' video by many 0.0 space players in my topic about those videos.
At least i was shooting other PVP players that did actually shoot back in my videos, so i can't really say i enjoyed this video. Because shooting / killing carebears with overwhelming force isn't what i call challenging and exciting.
So i'll give this a 4/10. And that's being nice. You get the 4/10 for having a good edited video and for having more instructions on how to scan for targets. That's the positive of the video.

2: Clash of the Empires

No, this video is fine because it involves tactically catching one of the most risk-adverse aspects of the game, with null intel pretty much covering entire regions and keeping players aware of who's trying to kill them and where they are, Gulnar has managed to master dodging lock-down bubbles, intel and warp-to-pos safety to still make some significantly expensive kills.
He's doesn't roll with 30 logistics and have scouts on every gate... |

He's doesn't roll with 30 logistics and have scouts on every gate... Well, i actually gave Gulnar props for having a video where i gives him good words for showing how to scan and catch those targets in my first post. That was the best thing with the video. The editing was also fine. But the actual content where he just use a cyno to jump in more Black Ops on them was boring. The targets basicly had no chance what so ever because they were overwhelmed by a large margin in most of the fights.

No, you gave him a thinly veiled complement followed by criticism because you were under the impression that his video closely resembled yours and you had got negative reviews before.
If you were paying any attention to the video you would have noticed that the majority of fights were just his cyno pilot (his alt?) and him, and that had there been anyone in local that was actually awake, could have posed as a threat. There were a couple that contained a hotdrop and i felt those could have been left out because they were of low taste. However your videos and his are not alike, the fact that even the most blob-esque clips contained less than 10 players already differentiates between the two, if you want better reviews on your videos you're going to have to show something with a greater risk to you being blown up and that generally means less players involved on your side |

seany1212 wrote:So most of your PVP videos? Did you watch the 'Clash of the Empires' video at all?
We had more numbers than RvB in that video, but we was fighting a force that was WAY more powerfull and experienced than us in that type of fights, because we had never done such a fight in empire before and because the FC we had there made some mistakes. And what about the first fight in Amarr where we was fighting 7x Dominix'es and 1x Tempest?
Our Bhaalgorn was actually down in deep armor at the end of the fight before they started to deaggro and we barely managed to kill anyone of them. But thanks to our Falcons, we managed to break up their RR chain and kill some few of them. So the fight in Amarr and the fights against RvB was by no means overwhelming them and killing them without any challenge.
seany1212 wrote:No, you gave him a thinly veiled complement followed by criticism because you were under the impression that his video closely resembled yours and you had got negative reviews before. Wrong, i told him in my first post that i gave him the 4/10 because his video was made in a good way and because it's an instructional video where he shows how to catch those carebears. That's fine. But as a PVP video it was bad and boring and therefor i gave him the score as i did.
seany1212 wrote:If you were paying any attention to the video you would have noticed that the majority of fights were just his cyno pilot (his alt?) and him, and that had there been anyone in local that was actually awake, could have posed as a threat. I know it's his alts and maybe some few others. But having neutrals in local isn't enough to have an overwhelming force to kill single targets like that. If he have had some balls, he would take the risk (YES, risk vs reward) and jump on them to make a really good and thrilling video out of it.
To take an example. We didn't really know how many ships RvB was going to bring against us in my 'Clash of the Empires' video. So we only knew what they had when they already where closeby. We did the same and did bring alot of ships to be on the safe side incase they would bring more ships.

We took a massive risk in the fights against RvB as we mercenaries that went together against RvB had never done such fights before and because our FC there had no direct experience in such fights. So we had to take what we had available. And not to mention on how much bigger RvB combined is over how many we mercenaries that went against them had. They could have brought double the numbers of what we had and even more.
The reason we went into that fight was to be a part of something historical that most likely wont happen again in a VERY long time in high sec. The fight in Jita is the biggest fight ot happen there in EVE's history. That alone is enough to make a video about that.
And lastly. My videos and Gulnar's video here is not the same, at all. But they still have to be challenging and exciting to watch anyways. That's the beauty of making EVE videos which i was told many times in my topics about my videos.

Some of the best PVPers in EvE commented in your 'Clash of the Empires' thread with a wide range of constructive criticism. It's clear you haven't taken any of it onboard otherwise we would not be having this discussion, and the fact that you still think the content in your video was a beacon of light is evidence of that.
Considering Gulnar did not even comment in your thread is even more disgraceful, as here you are giving him bad feedback based on the feedback you were given by others on your own videos. |

Yes, i know "some" was giving me valid criticism there and i even did agree to most of that as i said in the same topic. But most of the others who commented there was nothing more than just hate towards me. No worry though, if someone thinks they can just troll me or give me any dumb comments and thinks that's gonna affect me, then they are wrong. Because if you shoot this way, i will shoot back.
But enough of that.
seany1212 wrote:It's clear you haven't taken any of it onboard otherwise we would not be having this discussion, and the fact that you still think the content in your video was a beacon of light is evidence of that. I was for the most part in agreement with those few who gave me the good criticism. But i didn't agree on all points though as some of the points they made towards my video is kinda hard to achieve in high sec over how it is in low sec or 0.0 space. So if you think i didn't noted their criticism towards my video, then you are very wrong .
seany1212 wrote:Considering Gulnar did not even comment in your thread is even more disgraceful, as here you are giving him bad feedback based on the feedback you were given by others on your own videos. The point is that i was educated by some pvpers in my topics about my videos earlier that it doesn't matter where you make the video or how you make it. The point is that you should make all of the videos fun and thrilling to watch. That was the main thing on why someone criticised my video and not on how good the video was edited or where it was made in EVE.
Gulnar's video was even listing how much the kills was worth which means that it was more focused towards what he killed. If he would make a more instructional video that is short and easy to understand on how we can catch those carebears, he could have done it in a video around 6 to 8 minutes long or something like that.

Also I never stated that this was a PVP video You got 2 constructive comments from me that the video was well edited and instructed in a good way on how to catch those ships. I wasn't happy with the mix between the instructional part with the PVP part though. That was the negative side from me.
You didn't specify that it was a PVP video, but after watching it, someone will see it as a somewhat PVP video as you listed on how much the ship kills was worth.

It does not matter what kind of player you are fighting. If they are in fact a player, then fighting with them is to be considered a player versus player fight, by any reasonable definition of the term "PvP".
I am actually a fan of NightmareX and his videos, and I think that much of the EVE community is comprised of elitist d-bags who try way too hard to define PvP by how they choose to PvP, without looking at the bigger picture.
On the other hand, NightmareX this has turned into a bit of a shitpost thread and there is no reason to continue with this nonsensical argument.
Gulnar, it was a fine video and I quite enjoyed it. It's refreshing to see different stuff once in a while and yours was enjoyable and informative. Quality video. |

Quite simply put, that was the best carebear killing vidya I have seen. Awesome tactics, excellent probing, excellent scouting and very nicely edited.
You'll do well by ignoring that bitter **** not understanding anything.
Also I am sad to see you go AFK. I hope you have a good AFK and will return with renewed strength to punish them zerobears and their ridiciliousely expensive stuff.
