Doubt very much the deal fell through. I'd bet a bunch of your isk that it's coming in the second major Kali update.

Last I heard was that it was comming in a patch in December, which it is now...

The only thing I can predict for sure is 50 threads/min about
-OMG VIOX makes me lag
-I am going to cancel my account
-I didn't pay not to play you should give me money
-change it back or I will just die
-CCP yur the sux0r for not testing this thoroughly and not being 100% knowing how this would affect 30k players at once.
-<insert brillant "expert" idea from a novice of how to technically fix hardware problems>
-i hate you, u made me cry since i lost all my good stuff to lag
etc.

From what the GMs have said (I don't have the thread handy), it is "ready" they are just addressing all the Kali 1 issues before releasing it. It is supposed to be released before Kali 2.

Well, the last patch on Sisi with vivox in could not run on my Vista install due to it crashing with a protected execution error. It also caused alot of people to crash so I hope they are fixing that before release.

The best part of all those complaints will be the fact that the VIVOX VoIP is hosted on a seperate server, and so it won't generate any extra lag on the TQ servers.

No matter how you do it, VoIP will lag the game in someform. There are a lot of technically details to consider, but that aside, I think the pricing plan is curently under debate more than anything.

it didnt work on win2k either , it didnt cause the os to crash but it caused popup errors in windows

oddly enough i was going to ask the same, been wondering when in december vivox will hit being as there is only 1 more week before I assume CCP go on christmas break. I would guess it would be put back to january if not next week.

To be honest I don't understand the pricing problem. $10 a year, no matter how many accounts you run, seems pretty reasonable to me.
However I think that a corp plan is needed. The corp pays a set fee so all members can use it etc. I think that's a key element required.
But as with many things, CCP have gone quiet on the news front.
Minmatar: Train two "primary" systems, taking twice the time, for 1/2 the benefit. It's a thing of beauty.
